I've been scraping by with no "real job" as in employed for a few years now. I live in the western suburbs and getting employed is not working out real well. Right now what I want is to have a simple and good paying job with sensible hours and that are good with their employees. I'm done looking through the internet for job openings. Currently have become a designated gofer for frineds and family. I can handle mundane tasks as long as they are not overly techical and I can handle manual labor.

WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS?

What is the best way to tell whether being an RN, or being a nurse in a specialized area...such as surgical nursing....is right for me?

Without actually working in the field....its hard for me to tell.

I know that I am good with people...but other than that...I dont know.

So i went job hunting since I am turning 17 tomorrow, and I went into American Eagle, and I asked the lady for an application, and she looked at me, and gave me the paper and told me to come in next week at 3 with the application. I was sort of confused--why couldn't i turn it in just there? Anyone who works at such stores or something similar know why? None of the other places like Puma or Pacsun made me wait.
Let me know please, thank you
Additional Details
She said a week from today at 3*** sorry

We lead by example and do hands on clean up of public lands, and educate people on the impact of litter and garbage to the environment. We are new, have done two outstanding jobs for the Forest Service and WDFW with excellent letters of recommendation and thanks. How do I get people interested in donating and becoming involved? I can't seem to get any hits on our website, and have listed it with all the search engines. I need a miracle so we can geth back out there and do it again! What do I do?

I just graduated college and I just got my first post-college job. It is a negotiations and sales role for a not-for-profit healthcare company.

I plan on getting my MBA at night, and I was just wondering how one can look for another job in the future while they are working? I have been in those tough interviews that have panels of people and require you to fly-out to them, go to multiple interviews, etc. How can a full-timer, who is primarily in an office setting, go through the intense hoops?

I just found out today that Friday is my last day, but it was through my co workers. Supposedly my sup. emailed the team except for me and only found out when my co workers asked to take me out to lunch. I waited the rest of the day for my boss to tell me, but he didn't. That's kinda screwed up isn't it? Oh and in case you wanted to know, it's Starbucks Headquarters.

I recently left my job of 5 years where I was in very good standing for another job. I have been in this new position for only 2 mos. I already know I don't like it. It deals with a great deal of bill paying but when I applied for the job this was not mentioned. I want to find a new job but worry that my short stint at this job will hurt me. I have no idea what to say if asked why am I trying to leave a position that i just obtained.

I would love to be able to work from home... I sell some things on ebay... but would love to maybe mystery shop but all I can find charge a fee to do it. Oprah had it on her show one time and said it is a scheme if you have to pay to do it because the real companies pay you! I don't want to sell additional insurance over the phone... don't want to hound people. I have gotten several of the chain type letters lately where you send 6 people a $1 and then send 200 letters out and you are suppose to make lots of money... but who is going to send a buck to a perfect stranger. Please help with any info you can. Thanks.

Well I went for a job interview on Thursday the 24th. I called on Tuesday to find out if they had come to a conclusion. Then today Wednesday I emailed her a very nice email and her response was "Thanks for your persistence and email. I have others to consider but you are on the list."

What does that mean??? Should I give up ? I really want the job!!

I need to hand in my notice at work but it is an informal place - having said that, I don't think they will be too pleased that I am leaving.
How do I bring it up once I get to work? how do I start telling my boss - esp if there are people overhearing the conversation? As soon as I come in I should inform my boss - but how do I launch into it without sounding too blunt or random?

thanks.

I am a fast learner and am willing to make an investment in the right opportunitty once I find it. I would appreciate any advice on other companies and even personal experiences with the companies listed above. Thank You.

Okay I'm applying online for some jobs, CVS and STOP &SHOP ( just for summer employment and some extra cash). Im getting really scared b/c they keep asking for permission to conduct drug tests and background checks. I have to select job positions from a list with vague descriptions. Is all this really safe, and how can I know I'm not gonna get skrewed over with my personal info out to them? I have no problem being flexible, as long as they are willing to be reasonable. I'm really hoping they dont give me some n@$ty $h!t jobs. Yes I am over 18. No drugs or criminal background, Squeaky clean. I swear...not in the bad way,well.... oh, whatever!

How did you deal with this!? Help I'm nervous.
HELP!

Or can you go straight into RN? Most schools have "LPN to RN" transition programs, but can you just take your basic classes and then take RN courses and become an RN if you have no intention of being an LPN?

I graduated college in 2004 from Iowa with an elementary education degree. After that I applied for jobs everywhere from Colorado to North Carolina, and I heard nothing back except for a few rejection letters. I now live in Indiana and I still can't find a job. I am willing to relocate, but every state has their certain requirements for new teachers making it sooo difficult to find a job. Does anyone out there share my frustrations or have any advice for me??
