I am a Mortgagae Loan officer here in upstate NY and I do not have a license. I work for a bank and am not a broker. I can also lend in Fl. and several other states. I think it all depends on your employer.

If you work for a lender or correspondent lender you do not need a license. If you work for a mortgage broker you do.
