I want to have a good quality of life and be there for my family is why I want to be a teacher, but I want to be a chef too because I think I can really make something for myself instead of just being the small town school teacher like every other woman on the planet

If you're happier being a chef then be a chef! You can still be around for your family and obviously they'll enjoy their meals haha. Being a chef can be a good thing in so many ways. Eventually, you could open your own restaurant. And, you can provide for your family since culinary skills can be profitable. My friend just ate at a branch of the wolfgang puck restaurant and the dishes are around 100 dollars a piece. I would say go with what makes you happy which is apparently cooking.

I like chefs. Something about food excites me.

Nothing wrong with being a small town school teacher.

It's always good to meet people who had good teachers.

Both are excellent careers. Do both!

For food is your spice in love, play on...so says the Bard;
A chef can bring you the opportunity to travel to various
world-class resturant and Country Clubs. Moreover, you
are serving your vocation in the food and hospitality industry.
Go to France, Italy, London, Hawaii, Sydney, Dubai, Shanghai, Tokyo, Singapore....these cosmopolitan cities
speak the language of food.
To travel and be globalised is fantastic....
so get on the wagon.
