If one is to believe that education is to learn knowledge, then why has it become imperative that the present times educational institutions are veering towards the thought that education is for gainful employment? If it is not so, then why are we seeing much and much less numbers are getting into research and study and more and more enrolling into those courses that assures one an immediate job?

Hi all

Wonder if anyone has any words of wisdom for me, im 30 and currently doing a reasonably well paid job. However im not exactly feeling fulfilled. I left school at 16 not knowing what i wanted to do and to be honest i still dont other than this isnt it!!! Anyone know of any online resources where i can look at suitable careers for me based upon my skills......... Or for that matter any home study suppliers so i can add to my skills?

I'm doing interviews and an employee feels that she has lots of knowledge in her position. Actually I don't think she does. She also feels that she does a lot of work. She moves a lot of work, but it's normally incorrect or sent to another staff to process.

I had a third round of interviews with a company on Friday, and right before one of them started, I received a call from HR telling me that high level meeting was forcing my second interview to be cancelled (I was flown from out of state for this, btw). The HR person said to call her on Monday (this was Friday) to discuss feedback. What could this mean? Positive or negative? I'm thinking it is positive, but I need reassurance.

i havent see my boss yet, but his wife (the assitance manger) phoned and asked me what happen. I sauid if they need any money they could take it out of my pay check. What do i do?

I'm really interested in becoming the CEO/Chairman/President of a major corporation when I get older. However, if I do become one, I dont want someone else to take my job, because thats a big position. So why do people let their position as a CEO go? The only reasons I can think of is: Being fired, and dying. And who is the person in charge of firing and hiring?

Also, If you can, please give me any advice you have for someone one like me who wants to become an entreprenuer and eventually own a large corporation. Such as, what kind of education I will need, what kind of degree I should get, any good business colleges/schools, etc.... I'm still in high school, but I want to have a good future so if you have any advice I would very much appreciate it.
