My husband says that usually in technology sales it is a 80/20 split they usually offer. They give you a number like say 100k and 80k of that is your base with the possibility of earning 20k in bonus money if you meet your sales target.

If you are selling a commissioned item then your base is your base and the commissions are a set amount. Check salary.com and put in your zip.
