Why didn't you check the dozens (or hundreds) of similar Questions for 'Best Answer' (and save yourself 5 points) before posting (yet another) 'Home Working' Question ?

You want real work ?? = try the real world (they pay real money)

All you will find here are con-merchants, rip-offs, Pyramid Schemes and 'advanced fee' fraudsters ...

Hi. Having worked at home for several years, before going back to onsite work let me say that yes, most of the offers of "MAKE LOTS OF MONEY AT HOME" on the net are simple scams, or spammers looking for you to do their work. However the trick is to find a good well paying "REAL WORLD" job that either your employer is willing to let you work from home or become self employed and run the business from home.

Look into the government self employnment websites, they have large amount of information on how to get started with a home based business. You havent said what you currently do but there is a wide range of options available

Ebay has already been mentioned, if you have a couple of hundred pounds spare you could invest in some low cost stock from a wholoesaler and then sell it mail order via ebay and other auction sites, this can become quite profitable, alternately you could set up a craft based business, hand made cards are quite popular at the moment and if you are artistically inclined shouldnt be too hard to get into.
I've included a couple of links to wholesale gift sites that have low (£100 ish) minimum orders. I've used all three in the past and highly recommend them all, especial the first one.

Other options are webdesign, typing / translation services, home based music lessons, ironing service, childminding , Pet minding.

There are lots of oppertunities for legit homebased work. dont buy into the scams, but dont let the scornfull put you off either.

Just put a bit of research into it and dont leap in unprepared and you should be fine, you can always start of in your spare time, build up the business and once it seems safe, give up the day job and do it full time.
good luck with whatever venture you go for.

The obvious answer is ebay. I sell a few things I don't want, but if I spent more time on it, I know I could make a living, and I bet you could too.

Alternatively, become an online bookdealer. Sites like Amazon, Abebooks, etc., have large second hand book sales, and people are always looking for out of print books. It's something you need to read up on, but I know someone who supports himself by doing this - he reckons 5 mornings a week is the time commitment required, tho of course you can work at midnight. He buys padded envelopes in bulk from Viking, keeps a set of scales and a supply of stamps at home, so he can put the correct postage and save queueing at the Post Office. He doesn't drive either, and only mails stuff once a week, which cuts down the trips to town.

Finally, as one non-driver to another, aren't you fed up with drivers who
a) complain about traffic jams, and
b) treat non-drivers as some kind of sub-species

Good Luck

Beware of online working schemes - as a general rule, if they want money (welcome pack / registration fee etc) THEN IT IS A SCAM. NO legitimate employer will expect workers to pay for the privelage.

The only real way I have found of working from home is eBay. I've been a full time ebayer for 2 years now and it pays much more than my old job, I spend more time with the kids and cn choose my own hours.

I've set several people up as sellers on eBay, helping find suppliers and giving advice on listings etc. If you are serious about starting up your own business please leave your email address in the 'best answer' comment and I'll get in touch, but please only do this if you are sure you have the time to invest to get things going. If your wondering what I get out of it - I have many wholesale contacts and can supply what you want direct as I have import licences etc. in place. By combining other peoples orders with my own I can get a better price from the supplier so it makes my own stock cheaper!
