It seriously depends on what you're lying about.
Like, when the interviewer asks you to name "three descriptive words about yourself," it's better to say what they want to hear.
i.e. "Oh, I am very loyal, trustworthy, and honest," in conjunction to "Eh, I'm kinda lazy, rude, and I don't like taking showers." I believe that is an okay situation to lie about.

It is NEVER a good idea to lie in an interview. Besides being bad ethics, most companies have clauses on their applications (in the fine print) that say any misrepresentation in the application (or interview) process is grounds for immediate dismissal. Even if you 'get away' with it in the interview, why would you want a lie hanging around waiting to be 'exposed' so that you can lose you job? I have seen people dismissed for being caught in a lie about their qualifications. Companies will not even 'bat an eye' in most cases. And I have NEVER heard of a single case of an employee winning a lawsuit because they were fired for misrepresentations made on a resume or in an interview.
Don't do it. You will NOT get a second chance.

Never a good idea to lie. Either they'll see right through it, or it gives them a reason to fire you in the future when they catch you. Read, "Lying" by Sisela Bok to learn why lying is a bad idea. Don't you hate being lied to? Then don't do it to others.

You should focus on your strengths, try to give details about them but lying during interview would get you into trouble instead of getting you a job.

If i replaced into in love with somebody, i'd've grabbed the prospect to be with that individual. the certainty that he did no longer choose for the interview makes it look like he does not desire to bypass there. the certainty that he lied approximately it, makes him a liar.
