Hi all;
I live out of USA now, but in 2 or 3 months I’ll immigrate there (Georgia-Atlanta), Information which I have it is that it's very difficult to reconcile the daily expenditure and the wages which turn around of 10USD/hour, how do you make?
I mean by reconciliation: To have a car, a house, Kids, daily food and so on, and all with this wage.
Working hard, is it sufficient?

I work for a very large Japanese company in one small office in Miami. We recently got a new president (Japanese) and he is horrible!! Our assistant general manager(Japanese) is always getting yelled at by him, in japanese. I would understand if he were the angry boss type and shut the door to his office when talking/yelling to the AGM, but he yells throughout the entire office. If the yelling wasn't bad enough, he bangs against the desk and I've heard things being knocked down during his rampages. The rest of the office is hispanic and nobody thinks this is right. Even our human resources contact thinks so, but I think everybody is afraid to do something. What should I do? Is this even illegal? I'm getting tired of hearing their one-sided arguments. I did not grow up in a happy home, so hearing these arguments get me nervous and anxious, bringing back memories and tensing me up, close to tears....please help!!

When I was in college I couldn't study at my apartment. I used to go to the student union, a fast food place, or to crowed places on campus. I need noise to concentrate. It's been years, and I never had a problem working at work. I was happy working with from my cubicle with lots of people walking by, and people making noise around me. But I got to a point where I made enough contacts to stop working for a company, I recently quit my job, and began working from home. Work so far had been great, many people keep sending me work, but I just can't seem to concentrate, there's no noise here. I try the TV, but that only distracts me, and keeps me from working. Knowing I'm on my computer, I just keep wasting time on the Messenger, Youtube, and Wikipedia. I need to concentrate, and I can't do it here at home. I need to find a solution, otherwise me working from home might not work out.

Employment offer made over the phone and via email. Accepted orally over the phone and via email. Gave resignation at current employer, signed lease in new city of employment, and then informed 3 1/2 weeks after job offer that my position was no longer needed. Told I was an at will employee. However, I did not agree to anything or was told during the job offer/acceptance process that I would be an at will employee. I have in writing that my contract was from 5/1/07-8/10/07 with pay to be $4,550-$7,100 based on performance. My hours were 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm M-F.

I currently attend law school and realize what a mess this really is. I lived in Oklahoma when the contract was entered, the job was to be in Kansas City, MO, while the employers' headquarters are in Boston, MA. I assume jurisidication is in Kansas City, MO. I'm not familiar with the employment laws in Missouri. Please help! What are my legal remedies?

Hi. I'm a college freshman, trying to figure my life out. I think i may be interested in becoming a radiologic therapist, and i was wondering if i could get some real world information from real people. So if you could just walk me through your day and just tell me ANYTHING about this occupation i'd be grateful. Any info on salary would be beautiful as well. Thank you.

I'm currently working 7 days in a row (Monday-Sunday) and thought that the California law was that you were only allowed to work 6 days in a row, but my managers told me it doesn't count because this Sunday would mark a new week. That seems fishy to me because regardless of what week it is I'm still working seven days straight. Please let me know who is right...

I'm done with med school, a residency in ophthalmology, fellowship in retinal diseases.

But, I have this burning desire to become a bad-a@# lawyer like those girls on Law and Order. =) Over the years, I've decided that my personality is better suited for this kind of job. Only went to med school since it seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

Would it be completely crazy for me to abandon my medical career to go to law school? I'm 33.

i had an interview for government job. i prepared everything i could and tried hard..and i thought the interview went well..but i didnt get the job..

the only thing i can think that i did wrong is: when i just went into the room, i didnt get the chitchat that the interviewer said to me, since she had a very strong accent.

another thing is.. i had the wrong eye contact...i had more eye contact with one interviewer,,,but too little with other twos who actually have the final say..

sigh...how stupid i am.. i feel discouraged...sorry for the babbling..

I told them that I don't care if they don't like me, but I'd expect from adults to have a stable working environment and some professionalism. Also, I requested that if they have something nasty to say don't mock me when my back is turned.
How do I deal with this if every time I go into work someone is making fun of me or being rude on a daily basis? I've tried to toughen it out, but it's not easy.

In a couple days I have a job orientation for a job as a childcare counselor at a treatment facility for teens. Human resource has seen my resume and briefly talked with me on the phone. I haven't had an interview yet. The first time they will meet me is at the job orientation. I have no idea what to wear. I don't want to wear a dressy suit and high heel shoes if I'm going to be walking around the facility and doing actual training. But I also don't want to underdress by wearing khakis, a nice shirt and suede shoes that tie if I'm going to be interviewed or something. So I have no idea what to wear. What should I wear? Do I call the place and ask? (or would that be stupid)?

My company is using an internet network to record our time in and time out and our total working hours each shift. The interesting thing is i notice the digital clock is counting 100 minutes as 1 hour instead 60 minutes as 1 hour! There are a lot of times i see my working hours by the end of day is 7 hours 65 minutes, 7 hours 89 minutes then i would wait 11 minutes more to make it up to 99 minutes then the working hour will round up to 8 hours instead 7 hours 89 minutes. Anyone can tell me anything about this funcky timing?
