I told them that I don't care if they don't like me, but I'd expect from adults to have a stable working environment and some professionalism. Also, I requested that if they have something nasty to say don't mock me when my back is turned.
How do I deal with this if every time I go into work someone is making fun of me or being rude on a daily basis? I've tried to toughen it out, but it's not easy.

I didn't freak out or whine, I said this all calmly and calculatingly as to not let them show that it got to me.
It's okay to joke with me, but their kind of joking is cruel. They also snap and cuss at some of us when we don't do to suit them. IT gets old after awhile.

It's not a McDonald's or an office, it's a franchise. (I wait tables.)
So on top of that stress, I get to deal with being mocked, haha.

LOL.
The difference is in the kind of joking, Vegan.
It's never funny, it's just uncalled for, usually.

It sounds like you handled it very well. I'm not sure what I would have done, but I don't think I would have handled it as well as you did.
The next step is to move forward... Assess the situation as objectively as you can. Remember that we all say things that are inappropriate and unprofessional at times. Give them the benefit of the doubt, if you can. Forgive them and move on.
If you don't think you can let it go, or if you think there is a personnel problem that really needs to be addressed, then you may need to talk to a manager, owner, district rep or HR.
If the situation is truly hostel and intolerable, you may need to look for a different job.
Others have suggested seeing a lawyer. However, I don't believe you have a case unless the hostile treatment is directed at you because of your status in a legally protected class (race, creed, age, marital status, color and/or sexual preference) or you are experiencing sexual harassment.
Remember... most of us deal with rude and/or insulting co-workers from time to time. And unfortunately, most of us are inappropriately rude and/or insulting from time to time ourselves. The point at which it becomes intolerable varies from person to person. So, forgive and forget if you can; talk to management if needed; move on to a new job if intolerable; and seek legal help if you are experiencing illegal harassment.
Good luck!

depending on what kind of job you have there are options.
1. is there a better job out there for you Do you work at McDonald's, or do you have a good job you hate to loose and might not be able to get one with the same benefits?
2. Can you handle they mocking, if you can do nothing if you can't then do #3.
3. Go to a boss over that area, If he doesn't do anything go higher.
Good Luck on the situation. there are a lot of mean and childish adults out there.

As dangerous as this sounds, you will have to forget about it. You're no longer ready of vigour to project your boss, and telling her approximately it might simply intent pointless strain. If she took motion in opposition to him, and phrase received out that you simply have been the person who advised her, it would imply a large headache for you. And I imply, even though you are lovely definite she used to be who he used to be relating to you simply by no means realize...he would use that as a protection and declare you have been studying an excessive amount of into the drawback. He would even declare that you are mendacity (relying on how large of a jerk he relatively is). Bottom line is, you have got to select and decide upon ethical battles within the paintings location. I do not see how any person can win on this drawback. I consider it would be plenty special if he used to be insulting her to her face and you probably did not anything to stay up for her if she needed to pursue a reprimand. In this example adjuring to the announcing "are living and permit are living" is the wisest factor to do.

If your company has an HR department, go to them with your complaint. Tell them exactly what happened, that you feel that you are now in a hostile work environment because of your boss. One of you will likely be transferred to another department, or at least a different supervisor.

Document the incident, who and what was said.
If a work environment is hostile, they've violated some federal laws regarding discrimination.
Bring it up to your HR department, complete with documentation, and it will stop very quickly.

GET ANOTHER JOB. These people do not respect you and they do not care. I would not even give advance notice once oyu get another job. Quit the day you get your paycheck. Then let them deal with the repercussions.

I would have joined in.
"That vegan is a real jerk! Let's kick his *ss!"
This would embarrass them and show that you have a good sense of humor.
