They said they would call regardless but I think that meant for an interview and wheather I got one or not. I feel like calling them to just see how things are going. Good idea?

Im looking at some jobs right now and some of them have:
"Temporary - renewable, end date to be determined.."
What EXACTLY does this mean? Does it mean that once the end date is determined I am COMPLETELY out of a job? Will it keep renewing if they decide they still NEED me to work? Is this actually reliable if I want to keep a job?

I applied last Thursday and was told that I would be called regardless. It's Monday and I'm thinking of calling them to follow up and check how things are going. Is it good to follow up? Is a phone call good or would you prefer e-mail or an in person?

It doesn't have to pay a lot. Even $500/month would be fine (although more would obviously be better!) Something that will be FUN, and laid back. I like kids, helping people, organizing events/projects, being in charge, wearing flip flops! LOL - any ideas? It's a small town without a lot of opportunities - no sporting events or beaches. Anything you can come up with would be great!!! Thanks in advance!

my pride and apply to retail jobs? I don't have really any experience in that; so far, I've worked in administrative type jobs since receiving my Bachelor's years ago. Even if I were to apply for retail work, I think I may not be taken seriously since they would think I would bail out (which is true...LOL) at the drop of a hat if I obtained a full time position in corporate America. I'd appreciate your input.

They say it is best to relocate after you get a job...but how is that people are able to relocate, really far away from where they live at the moment? How is it possible to get a job, when you live say, in another state?

I have worked in retail for 13 years and after being made redundant I have decided I want a change, and would love to do something along the lines of pa, admin, office work.

Through a recruitment agency I have found a full time but ongoing tempary position in admin which I start on april 2nd. Its a big pay drop, but I am fine with that as obviously I am going into a new field of work.

But im getting really nervous as my start date is approaching. Any tips out there on how to calm the nerves and fit in on my first day?
