I have worked in retail for 13 years and after being made redundant I have decided I want a change, and would love to do something along the lines of pa, admin, office work.

Through a recruitment agency I have found a full time but ongoing tempary position in admin which I start on april 2nd. Its a big pay drop, but I am fine with that as obviously I am going into a new field of work.

But im getting really nervous as my start date is approaching. Any tips out there on how to calm the nerves and fit in on my first day?

A lot of people go through the first day jitters more so because they are worried about the group of people they have to work with. My best suggestion to you is since you are changing fields focus on your job. The better you are at it the more people will respect you. Your first couple of months is there will be training.
Remember this you are at work to work not to make friends. If you don't have friends at work be happy with the fact you are still getting a paycheck.
Best wishes on the new career path.

It's just a job, find out what is expected of you, then do it to the best of your ability, lalala.
