When my sons were far too young to work 'out', but, needed cash, I had them each fill out a 3X5 card that listed all they knew how to do, and each 'job' had to be safe for each one to do. Once I had checked out each card, each boy made lots of these cards, and left them on neighbors door steps......not in the mailbox (that's illegal)........with each one's name and phone number on the card. Prices were according to what each job was. We live in an area where blackberries grow wild, and picking those berries for people made for a lot of happy customers. (The cost of the berries depended upon the size of the container). Do you have lovely flowers that could be sold? Can they wash outside windows? I always tried to think of things the boys could do that were cheap in the area of what each boy would NEED to complete the job. Are they able to take dogs for walks? Is there an elderly person in your area, who is, normally, taken care of by a relative, etc.? IT is possible that this caretaker would be thrilled to have someone visit the elderly person for a while, and let the caretaker have some 'self-time!'. I always found that by letting my sons think up all they could do for money, putting it in a list, made more sense than ME trying to do it for them.

I found a taste testing agency where I live.. Don't know if there are others around the country ... But my daughter made $30 for taste testing.. And then spent it all herself and loved the idea of her own money..

Babysitting and Dog Walking come to mind first. However, if you know of anyone who owns there own business they may be interested in having someone do odds and ends.

If you like soccer, this will help, if not, forget this answer. You could try to referee some soccer games for kids younger than you.
