I am 22 years old. I did as everyone said, go to school. Get a degree. Well I graduated last spring with my Associate of Applied Science in computer networking and service. I have yet to find a job. I have designed a few websites on my own but never have worked for a company. Why do people go to school ? I have even applied for simple jobs customer service, tech support, sales, etc... Nothing? Do people think I want to be payed to much? If any one knows of any jobs in Dalton,GA please let me know. Advise me.. I need help. Thanks and God Bless Everyone

I have looked outside of my area. Upto 50 miles outside my area. I feel people are intemidated with my resume. I have accomplished a lot in such a little time. Should I not even list these things on my resume? Is dumber better?

Have you tried looking outside of the area that you live? You may have to move to do what you want.

Your having trouble getting a job because you have no experiance. College is a wonderful thing. I have a 4 year degree in computer science myself. Unfortunately that and $2.20 will get me a coffee at the local coffee shop. College did a lot for me, but with the ever increasing dependancy upon networking in the business world, companies are looking for indivuduals with a proven track record, to aidin insuring their ever more critical network services, stay up.

I saw some 6 pages of jobs available under the keyword Cisco, in north Atlanta, more in north Georgia. I suspect that even lacking experiance, your resume is either not presenting yourself well, or contains nothing that really stands out and grabs a hiring manager's attention.

Your former college should have some sort of post graduate services that can aid you in better preparing your resume. If not, I would reccomend having a proffessional reume service create a resume for you. It would also be of benefit, to take a look at other people's resume's, those with a track record for job hunting success, and try to learn from some of the things that have worked for them. Monster.com has several job seeker networking forums you might check out to help you network with others and perhaps gain a few tips or maybe even some job prospects.

Check out local user groups and attend their meetings. Cisco or Microsoft user groups in your area, etc. IE, Make yourself known to the local networking community. You might get lucky and someone will attach your resume to the memory of your face from a user group meeting and get you a leg up :-)

It would probably also not hurt if you put some time into getting certified in the networking or computer information systems field that you want to work within. CCNA for networks, CISSP for security, MCSE for Windows servers etc etc etc. Typicaly, I have had to look through 50 or 60 resume's for every networking position I have had to interview someone for. Anything that you can do to make yourself stand out right away (in a GOOD way) from among the stack of 50 will help :-)

Your resume is a huge part of finding a job! If you don't have a good resume - you won't be considered. If you have a great resume - you will get a chance to work for a company. If you have experience or not - you can still make a great resume - just get some help.
These people are awesome and not as expensive as most ..
