You don't say which Industry - Retail, Hotels, Motoring etc all have this type of job.

Essentially it's a fancy term for "some-one who speaks to Customers".

So it could mean anything from Receptionist / Sales staff / Support or Help Desk / Telesales / Car Salesman or even Account Manager ...
