I'm in cosmetology school, but I hate it. I was pretty much forced to go, but I hate it. I find myself being moody and sad all the time. My uncle is paying for it, so if I quit everyone will be disappointed in my, but I can't help it, I don't like it, and that's not what I want to do with my life

I wanted to go to college to do something with computers, but I'd pay for it myself...

what would you do if you were in my situation? Take the chances of your family hating you and go to school for what you want, or stay and be unhappy, for THEM

Hello. I am having a phone interview for a Customer Service position (call center rep. not as a teller) with Wachovia Bank in about 20 minutes. The problem is, that I was fired from my last employer because of difference of opinion between me and an asst Manager. However, my manager then, told me that I could always use her as a referrence since the incident was not between myself and her. I was fired for "misconduct" and am unsure if to tell this to the person that will interviewing me. My cousin has told me she is ok to say she is my manager and cover for me saying that I still work there, good employee, blah blah blah - but - is this wrong? Or should I just build the courage and say that I was fired? And when asked, what do I say? I don't want to say that I was fired for "misconduct" (obvious reasons) but am afraid of what might be said by my manager even if she said she would always serve as a referrence for me? God I'm nervous.

I'll be getting my Bachelor's degree in May for business, specifically HR. I really want to work in an animal related field though. I am only completing this degree because I was so far in it before I realized it wasn't exactly what I wanted to do. Anyway, is there any way I can get a job in an animal related field with my business degree? The only thing I could think of was being an office manager or HR person at an animal hospital, but there aren't any large animal hospitals where I live that would employ that kind of position. Any ideas?

At my place of employment a memo was recently posted that any employee that let's a customer walk out of the office with an unpaid balance that employee would be responsible for that balance. In the past a billing would be sent out to the customer but it seems it would save the employer time and a stamp to just take it out of my check. I thought that if that agreement was not arranged and signed at the time of employment that could not be the case. If possible I would like a legal point of view.

Yesterday, I hurt my shoulder at work. To-day I am home. I went to emergency .and they told me I hurt the shoulder ,it is not broken.
I have a job in a clothing store on Sundays only in the basement of a store. There are two sets of stairs to go up/ down on.My boss is upstairs on the main floor.
My supervisor is off on Sun / Mon. She leaves me notes for work to be done. Last week I mixed =up the invoice copies and gave the customer the yellow bill of sale instead of the white. My boss called me yesterday / talked and talked. I was with a customer /busy and I told her but she kept on talking. The customer bought a jacket , I gave her the white copy which was correct.. She left the store. The note from my supervisor said to give the customer the yellow copy. so I went upstairs to find the customer She left. I told my boss about it. She said the instructions were wrong. On the way down to the basement I missed 2 bottom steps and fell over on my shoulder and leg.I want to go to a lawyer.

He's a nice guy and a mate- but going through a rough patch and would probably get sacked for it-which would make his life even worse.
I'll only get a smack on the wrists for it-trouble is I suspect my boss realises that it wasn't me who messed up in the first place and that I am covering up for him-not convinced I did the right thing-Too late to do anything about it now without losing credibility-What do you think?

I recently got a freelance job designing a new logo for this woman's new company. i use a freelance job posting site, and all legal problems should be covered by them. well, it was my first job and wanted to make a good impression, and i missed a step in the process where the employer must deposit the pro's (me) fee into an escrow account until the job is complete. I didn't know this and did the design work as stated in my contract agreement with this woman. she went ahead and hired another pro for the same job and paid them for the work done. she's left me high and dry, and since she never deposited my fee into the escrow acct. the website company has no legal standing, other than to delete this woman's account which she could resign up for with a co-worker's name or something. i've sent her numerous emails and still no answer in almost 2 weeks. now i'm ready to send her one last message. what would you say that would be firm yet not in-your-face aggressive?

My colleagues are cool but the companies a nightmare and the management are antagonistic towards anyones career development. Thing is it took me 15 failed interviews just to get this position a year ago; I failed another interview recently for a place I really wanted to work and now my confidence in myself is rock bottom.

Anyone have any advice?
