There is lot of Course Available.
You have to choose your filed like Programming language or Package or DataBase Programming,or administration,Web development.
If you want to work from home these courses won't be helpful to you.

Web designing is good now a days you can work from home but you have get a order from customer it is not simple job.

Data entry can be done work from home but it won't give much money to you.

your need depends on the available budget you have, nowadays you'll be needing a minimum of 2 GB RAM to run some memory intensive programs, consider also the size of the L2 cache and bus speed as the latter dictates how fast your data transfer rate would be, 800 Mhz is ok, when it comes to cache memory, you can always expand computer memory but the L2 cache stays the same, 4mb is great. If you prefer windows vista, go for premium or ultimate and choose a computer that would work well for 64-bit applications as well as the much stable 32-bit flatform. If you would use your computer for video editing or gaming, a higher "dedicated memory" is a must, say, 256 or 384 mb. The specs you've shown is good, only, if it's possible to ugrade to windows vista premium as the basic edition lacks plenty of useful features.

Hi,
I believe you have specific requirement like " Work From home". I am a software engg working for CTS in chennai, you know i personally prefer a job like that.

If you are a fresher then if you learn web designing you can develop websites but then it would be hard for you to find clients else you can work for a company where you get paid and the work demands more of your time.

If you are talented and good in maths why not try KPO(Knowledge process outsourcing) where you can take classes for american children over the phone and get paid hourly basis and this can be done at home.

If you want a job just as a part time and not worried about it try web designing else I would say learn some thing like SAP from SAP certified centres bit costly but worth it.

Too much to speak but I am lazy to type, if you wanna more info feel free to mail me arunkumar.mariappan@cognizant.com

Cheers,
Arun

The best computer skills courses i have found are the Microsoft step by step courses. You can choose any of the applications and there is a detailed book for that. These courses from Microsoft are designed as self study courses, and sometimes are offered by good training institutes in your region.

Some course outlines can be found at http://www.sitespower.com/training-courses/microsoft-office-2007-2003-xp.html
