This is a question I'm trying to answer for my dad: careers he can explore pass the age of 50 without a college degree. He has a high school diploma and up to this point, he has held a steady job with a newspaper company but he needs to find work elsewhere very soon. What are some options he has? He brought up the idea of becoming a limo driver. He also wants to stay away (preferably) from office work since he's been involved with that type of work for a number of years.

The job has to support a middle-class family. Are there any websites online where I can look for free information to answering this question? How about any recommended books/guides you know of? Please help me in anyway possible. It would be a great deed for me and my family. Thank you to all who reply!

I posted a question previously saying that I was looking for something genuine to work from home. And one of the answers directed me to this link:

http://www.ultimatewealthpackage.com

Has anybody had any experience that would be able to tell me it is a real (except the person who posted it to my question) and not another scam? It asks for $49.95 upfront though it claims it has 60 days money back guarentee. But how can I trust them to refund the money when I don't know who they are? If it is a scam the link might not even work tomorrow.

I really hope that it is a real opportunity but I have been burned so many times, I think this time I would like to listen to more opinions before doing something stupid and ended up losing my money again. Any advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

I have this lady who always tries to make small talk with me...the problem is she is not very good at it. Every day, as I head out to lunch, she will ask the same stupid questions, "where are you going for lunch...what are you going to eat for lunch." Then, on my way back, when she sees me, guess what she asks: "Where did you go for lunch? What did you have to eat?" Why do people feel like they have to make small talk with you, even if they have nothing to say. This is so annoying.

I am interviewing with the new President of my company tomorrow for a promotion. The guy is well-known in the industry and very much connected. I am concerned that he is going to look outside the company for the hire, and leave me in my current role. Any suggestions on ways to lock it up would be appreciated.

How can I get the money back? Any Ideas? Small claims court costs $62 in my county -expensive just to return 150$ took. Unfortnatly It's not a guarantee that she return it, but it would be a bad mark on her credit. dmpe
I'm thinking I could try and scare her into returning it by sending her a certified letter stating that I will sue her if she doesn't return it by such and such date.... Somebody help me!

Hubby has posted his resume on Monster but hasn't heard much. He's thinking it must be a problem with his resume. Is it worth getting someone from Monster to rewrite for $200 or are there other services out there we could use?

What is your most effective way of de-escalating a call? How do you take ownership when a caller wants to escalate to a supervisor before giving you any detail at all?

If you had these employment issues, what would you do?

I work at a small family owned company. My boss is the owner of the company, there is no higher or lower. I've been working here over a year; I have experience in the field since 1998. I have 3 years of college and other training classes in many fields. Despite everything and my qualifications, I spend most of my time filing or answering phones. One time I even was asked to make the owner’s son’s pictures into book form (cutting, copying, pasting into the format). One of the owners is prone to tantrums and throwing things across the room for giving him a phone call.

I wake up sick to my stomach at the thought of coming to work and there are nights where I wake up in cold sweats after nightmares from work. Since working here I am sick at least once a month (hospital sick, not just a cold) and I had horrible stomach acid, I cant sleep, I cant even focus on home life.

I have been attending several AA meetings for three months now and have been going to the counseling center on a regular basis to sober up. I've always been volunteering at Salvation Army to keep myself busy. Would reference letters from the AA, the counseling center, and the Salvation Army be sufficient enough to get my job back at Home Depot?
An Associate found using, selling or possessing illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages is subject to immediate termination, but with my reference letters will they hire me back?
