I'm thinking about joining a group called the Sexperts at my school. We increase awareness about safe sex and making healthy choices. This is a time commitment of 3 hours a week. Would this look good to future employers and/or grad schools, or would I be spending my time one something potentially detrimental to my resume?

This is a last resort because if I dont make it in writing then I am doomed to mediocrity - I can't stand it ! I have alot of education but have only gotten crappy jobs with it except an overseas job teaching english to koreans. It was mentioned to me to submit articles to readers Digest and I thought about this years ago. I am getting my appetite wet since a major media organization expressed interest in a story of mine and asked for my phone number. I need to do more though - I want to achieve greatness and some money. I am not using my fifty thousand dollars worth of university degrees in the plastics factory I work in right now. I am sick of selling myself short. Anyone with ideas of where I can go please tell me.

So, I was sick on Sunday and had to call in to work. I've had this job for about 7 months and this is only my 3rd time being out. Not to mention all the times I've went in on my days off to help out.
Anyway, the person I talked to when I called in sunday morning gave me a real hard time about it. She said she'd been dealing with this all weekend with people calling in, and she was sick too but she came to work anyway, so why couldn't I come in. So we argued on the phone for what seemed like forever, and I get the feeling that apparently she thinks I must not really be sick.

I went to the doctor later on and got him to write me a note while I was there. Last night I put the note up in the office at work where this person could see it. Then my evil side took over and I made a little note on it that said:

XXXX,
Here is my doctors note from Sunday. Thanks for being so "nice" when I had to call in.
XXXXX

Was that wrong?

I know that I will not work for this company for long and I will immediately quit once I get a school date for my federal agent program. However, in the meantime I need to be working and earning some pay. Is it wrong to accept this new job when I know I will be out the door in a few months? I feel kind of bad about it, but on the other hand I deserve to pursue the job that I really want.

I am a recepctionist at a mortgage company, but was originally hired as a Escrow Coordinator. Ive been moved to receptionist position because she left the company and make $8 /hr salary if i am late or leave early that time gets deducted from my pay. if i work longer than 9 hours a day and more than 40/hr a week i get paid for 40/ hrs. i always thought that there was one kind of salary you get paid 40/hrs whether you work all 40/hrs or not. and every paycheck would be the same.
