I have, and I'm SO proud of it.

I thought being fired would be the worst thing in the world, but it wasn't.

You can look at it two ways: if you were fired and it WAS your fault, learn from the mistakes that you made. Feel ashamed of yourself, learn a lesson, and move on. Be proud of the fact that you can learn from a mistake and become a smarter person.

If you were fired and it really wasn't anything that you did wrong (for example, I was a whistleblower. I got fired because my boss was drunk on the job...regularly. She fired me because she found out that I had gone to the hr person to discuss my concerns. I was WORRIED about her. My doing that got me fired, but it also shook things up at the company and ultimately got some very bad stuff straightened out.). If this happens to you, you feel bad that you lost a job that you might have liked, but did you really want to work somewhere that condoned bad behavior? You can feel good that you kept your integrity and can walk with your chin up.

You see, no matter why you were fired, as long as forward motion comes out of it...if you grow as a human being, then it is a good thing.

You are NOT the only one who has been fired. Wear it like a badge of honor and figure out how to make it look the best you can on your resume!

Good luck.

PS: I spent some time crying on the couch, but I started exercising and it really made me feel better about everything.

Yes, I have been fired. I have also had to fire someone. Regardless of the reasons it is tough to be on either side of the fence. Just remeber it is not the end of the world and something else will come along. Not everyone is suited for every job. It may not be that you were lousy at your job it may have been that it was a lousy job for you. Keep your head up and find something that you enjoy doing. Don't make a job a four letter word! Find something you really, love to do!

When I was 17 I used to work in a shop and I got fired for not smiling enough and for being too quiet then when I was 18 I nearly got fired from a bingo job for not smiling enough again, so I put the effort in and started false smiling and as they could see i was trying to make the effort they tried to train me up behind the bar but i was no good at it so they let me stay false smiling at the customers in the bingo hall. Then me boyfriend kept coming in shouting me name all over the place they gave me one warning but i couldn't control him so i got fired again.

One of me friends got fired for killing a horse. she worked as a nanny and took care of 3 children and in the night when she was on her own with the children it started thundering and lightning and the horse got out of the field and got knocked over by a car. so they chose to blame her for leaving the horses gate open whether she did or not is a mystery suppose the lightning could of struck the gate. oh she also left the 3 children in the house on there own while she ran down the road after the horse to try and save it that could of been it. but after all said and done children were fine just a bit upset about there horse.

You're definitely not alone. I got fired from a local movie theatre for allegedly eating some of the candy under the case from an anonymous tip.

Yes I have been fired a few times in my lifetime and now I realize I am better off working for myself. I don't like people trying to make me work unethically or a person trying to give me a perception they are always right when I know they are wrong. My last job we rarely received praise for doing a great job.

Yes. I was fired three times. But I always got a better job sooner or later. It's not the end of the world; it just seems that way.

Being fired once after 9 1/2 years with a company, I have great empathy for people out of work. Bills, worries, and sleepless nights never seem to end. If you have truly done nothing to cause this, then go forward. If it was though fault (S) of your own.....correct them and go forward.

In my life and I'm 26 i was fired two times. I have fore years of University degree and many people told me that I'm quite intelligent but it can happened to anyone. First time i was very sick and wasn't at work for two weeks came back when start to fill a little better and after one day get sick again it was much more worse so i was in the bed for four days and wasn't at work for next two weeks. But at this first day at work i said to my supervisor that i fill bad again and will not come to work tomorrow and may be stay at home for few more days till i will fill better. But when after two weeks called them they said that I'm fired at first i was really angry but i already had another job so i let it go.
Next time it was my fault and i still try to understand why i was so bad i was working part time at fish&chips but at busy time i had panic attack i simply couldn't concentrate my attanion at anything. Owners and clients liked me but i had to go because i did a lot of mistakes with money and i'm economic student.
