I tended bar for about 6 years. I started out waiting tables at a bar and one night when our bartender walked out I was thrown behind the bar. It's not hard work, but it is fast passed and you have to be able to remember drinks. I made about $400 a night on average. They usually have bartending schools in most cities and they usually aren't too expensive to attend. It would help give you a leg up. You may want to try some of the smaller bars to start and after gaining experience try to move into a bigger, more popular place.
