I know that I will not work for this company for long and I will immediately quit once I get a school date for my federal agent program. However, in the meantime I need to be working and earning some pay. Is it wrong to accept this new job when I know I will be out the door in a few months? I feel kind of bad about it, but on the other hand I deserve to pursue the job that I really want.

What's wrong with it? Go for it. My shortest tenure at a job was 3 days. The offer I really wanted finally came through and I was gone!

This happens all the time. Don't sweat it!

But whatever you do, do NOT tell them that it is temporary! Don't imply that you'll be there for the rest of your life -- just don't say anthing at all.

Keep in mind that when a company falls on hard times, they'll cut staff with little or no notice. What works for them, works for you.

Salaried employees are at the bottom of the pecking order. There is usually no union benefits or any other benfits for that matter. Salaried employees can be coerced into extra work and extra hours. Take the job. If you like the company you may be able to work something out while you go to school. If you hate the company, then you only gave them a few months of your life.

Just remember that when you go salary you can work a million hours this week and next week you can work just forty and the sad thing is there is no overtime. Since this is a job that you will not stay at for to long just stay hourly.

No don't take it. Let someone who really needs it have a chance for the position. Why waste the companies time and efforts. It's called being loyal to self, company, and another who may need the job more than you.

I am sure if you explain all this to the head person in charge they would app. you more than if you took the job and then just quit so go and tell the truth ,the truth is always the best thing in this world and god loves truth tellers and the truth will set you free .and for you to want to work so you can go to school any-one should understand that and be glad to help you out.so go for it but remember honesty is the best policy.

The company would not feel bad about firing you suddenly if it needed to cut costs. Company loyalty is a thing of the past.

Take the job. If they ever ask about your plans to stay or go...don't tell them what they want to hear. Just say your not sure.
