Contact phone on hold companies and inquire from them how you can be a voice talent for their clients.

Some examples of phone on hold companies are:

Generally, this is the same work as voice-over work.
You should have your voice 'analyzed' and many use a voice coach for optimal voice quality. This would also enable you to do voice work in shows, radio, and documentaries. Most have an agent similar to the kind an actor would have. Hard to get established, but once you do,you can get paid $20-$80/hr., keeping in mind you may only work 3 hours a week! Best of luck to you.

You need to become a Voice Talent. You should have some professional training with a school that will assist in developing and recording your demo CD. You'll have to send this, along with a bio and professional B&W photograph, to lots of talent agents and hope one likes your stuff to sign you on. Once you have an agent, then you can work with them in obtaining voice-over contracts doing the things you like~ such as automated telephone messages!
