A staffing company is an independent company working on behalf of the employer by locating talented people to fill the employers available positions. The employer is billed by the staffing agency for their service. In some cases the agency will issue your paycheck and bill the employer for your wages and a fee.

This can be good and bad. Many times when you are referred by a staffing agency you are their employee and not the employers therefore forfeiting benefits etc... Do your homework and make sure you understand who you are working for and if you are losing valuable benefits, senority, health insurance, etc....Most of the time there is a time limit (hours) and you will be notified when your assignments has ended usually 6 months..

Many times the staffing agency is not looking out for your best interests as they are only brokering the deal. Ask questions and as always set your goal and stick with it.. An agency will sometimes talk you into something you really do not want....

A Staffing Agency is a company that another company uses to fill its open positions.

Example: Company A is a large company with 40 job openings for a certain position. Rather than go through the process of interviewing, drug testing, and hiring 40 employees, they simply pay Company B (the staffing agency) to do it for them.

Even though you work at Company A, you are technically an employee of Company B. It's kind of like outsourcing, but in the same country. When working for a staffing agency, you are considered a "contractor"; you are working at Company A as an employee of Company B, under the terms of a CONTRACT that the two companies have agreed upon.

If you should stop going to work, Company B would use another one of their employees to fill your position at Company A. As such, Company A always has readily available employees for its open positions.

Hope this helps :)

A staffing company is another name for a staffing agency. They have a possible position for you that is temporary. They will interview on your background and what kind of positions (assignments) that you are interested in. After that, they will test you on Word, Excel, and typing. if your scores and background matches what the "client" wanted in a temp, then you will get the assignment. They will tell you where it is located at, the rate of pay, what are the duties of the assignment , and how long it the assignment will last. Some temps turn the assignments down because of the interview schedule or they are working on something else. Some staffing companies require references. Some staffing companies have temp, temp-to hire and direct hire.Good Luck and hope you get the position.

A staffing company works on behalf of the employer finding qualified individuals for particular jobs they are needing to have filled. These are usually considered "Temp" jobs and the time frame in which you are hired is for short periods of time. The staffing company creates the contract with the employer and you actually work for the staffing company. They are the one that will pay you. You do not get benefits with this type of program and if the company you go to work for does not like your work performance they can terminate you and have the staffing company send over someone else.

This type of work is good for people looking to try out different kinds of work environments or have short term work availability. I would not recommend it as a full time career choice if you are looking for stability and long term employment with a company.

Employers contract with staffing agencies to find people to fill positions. Some positions are temporary, others are for permanent positions, while others are temporary to permanent (temp to perm). You are an employee of the staffing agency until the contracting company hires you permanently.

If you get hired full time from a temp to perm position, your salary should increase because the temp agency was being paid part of your salary. For example, the company may pay the staffing agency $20 per hour for a temp, but the agency only pays you $15. When you get the job, you should get the full $20 per hour.

It's when a business uses a company to match up potential employees for them. They match skills to the jobs.
Here's what I've found about staffing co.s

*Many times it is not steady work. You may be asked to fill in for short periods of time....2 weeks, or even 2 days.

*Also, the hiring comapny pays the staffing company a set rate per hour that you work...meaning that this is money YOU are not getting.

For example, I worked for a company for $11.00 an hour, and an additional $3.00 per hour was paid to the staffing co. That means I could have been paid $14.00 an hour if the place had hired me outright.

Businesses like to use temp staffers, because they owe them nothing....no vacation, no benefits, no 2-week notice, nothing.

They 'lease' workers out to companies. You might know them better as 'Temp. Agencies' though most prefer the term 'Staffing Agency' since they do sometimes set you up with a permanent position...in that case you usually work for them for say 3-6 months before becomming an employee of the hiring company.

The staffer company goes out and fines openings in companies for you, They rent you out as a part timer or fill in, and the company or you pay the Staffing Company for letting you work. It is like an out side office pool. You mite be able to get a shot at a job by using one of them, because they fine jobs that otherwise you would never hear of, then you have to in press the employer with your skills.
Kelly Girl is a type of office staffer company. and you will be working for the staffer company not the company your doing the work for: also their agreement could block you from taking a full time job with a company.

This is a Temp type company.. So basically they offer temporary positions..some are temp to hire which means... if the company is looking for someone long term.. they'll pretty much give you a test run... for usuallly about 2 or 3 months... and then if they decide they like your work, they'll hire you as part of their company instead of you working for the "staffing" company.

A staffing agency works with a number of employers. They will keep your information on file and when a position opens that you would be suited for, they pass your info along to the employer. In a lot of cases, this work is temporary.
