I have a new President and we have not been able to connect. She thinks I am telling her how to do her job when I am just trying to help her understand her responsibilities. Even if I make a suggestion, she thinks I am undermining her authority.

ok, i'm a placement manager at an employment agency. most of the time our positions are based on general labor, assembly, loading and unloading, etc. the catch is that they are jobs that pay minimum wage, $6.50..... as a person i understand that people don't want to work their butt off for only that amount of money. ofcourse, as an agency this is what we do... we offer only this kind of jobs, very rarely, do we offer better paying jobs. i've been working here for a short period, i'm under the looking glass, lol. so now i have to come up with 5 ideas to excite people into accepting these $6.50 per hour jobs, now here's where you might be able to help... any ideas on how to excite people into taking these positions??? please help remember the looking glass....

The ones where you need to buy the product and then harrass all your families and friends to do the same? My initial reaction is to talk my friend out of this, but I figured I would ask the world first.

The company I work for is changing the dress code policy and they are saying that we might as well purchase our shirts because they may not have enough in by the time we have to be in dress code. They provided us with the smocks before so why shouldn't they provide us now?

I just started a new job today in nyc. I moved to NY in July, so I'm glad I at least got a job in 2 months time. My job is basically to call companies that spend $1 million or more on their brands and to verify contact information and things of that nature. I didn't have to make any calls today, just observe, but I'm nervous as h*ll about having to do it tomorrow. I feel a little intimidated since I'll be calling important people at companies like Coca cola, etc. I really need tips on how to get over my phone nervousness/anxiety. I'm not nervous on the phone when I talk to people in a casual manner, just when it's for business purposes. How can I get over my phone anxiety and if you had the problem, what worked for you?

I had an interview for a job (and I thought I did well). The interviewer said that they had some other people to interview through-out the week (this was last week) but will contact me by Friday (friday last week) to let me know if I get a second interview. She told me at the time that they had to go through all the interviews and make a decision. But I haven't heard anything yet. What could this mean?

I work in a small office with little room to grow. I should have been the next in line. I don't have a lot of options as far as the industry I work in. I need this job for at least the next 6 months.

I'm seeking information on how to become a pharmacy technician. Are you certified? How did you get certified? Did you find a company to hire you entry-level with no certification? Anything I should know or consider? I'm considering a career change, but don't wish to fall for any scams...such as unnecessary schools, certifications, etc. Haven't found a whole lot of useful, detailed information available on the internet. Thanks!!

I have an interview coming up, and it's not my dream job, but it's in a competitive field and I would be glad to have it.

If I lie and tell them what they want to hear: "My ultimate goal is to work here and do whatever this job demands of me" I look like a liar and a brown-noser with no spine, which is true.

If I tell them the truth: "My goal is to use this job to save up as much money as I can to reach my ultimate goal" then I appear uncommitted and unworthy of hiring, which is true.

But I still want to be hired because I need to pay bills and it's better than most jobs. What do I do?

I am currently in school and working for a hospital in the NICU. I am married and have 1 son and 1 stepson both 8 years old. I cant decide what to do with myself. I was a nursing major but the long hours and stress take away from my family so I was looking into becoming a paralegal. All of my college hours will apply to either degree plan and I need an unbias opinion. (My son doesnt have his father around and my husband works long hours so he spends most of his time with my parents) Which career would be best? I am 24 and would like to have one or two more kids soon.

If a person earns a Paramedic Associate Degree in Texas, would that certification transfer over to another state, or would you have to retake the college classes over again? I'm guessing each state has different regulations concerning Paramedic protocol and procedure...
