You ask a very good question, but I'm afraid I only know part of the answer. I work for the Regional Superintendent's Office of Education in Illinois, and I can tell you that a college graduate, on average, will earn over one million more dollars over their employment years than one who only has a high school diploma. So tuition reimbursement by an employer is quite an investment in you... they are wanting you to stay with them and contribute your talents to their company.
