I am almost certain I got a job I interviewed for last week, if so, my issue is a co-worker of mine just gave her 2 week notice this past Friday and today they called her and told her don't worry about finishing the next 2 weeks! My current employer is very small and once you violate that since of trust and loyalty they are so upset they don't even want to see you for the next two weeks... it's like. Go now... good luck to you...

Should I waste my time giving notice, or just leave and avoid the drama? Plus they're going to be even more upset since as of today we're short one person! I'll make two! Yikes!

How do you include a salary history on a functional-based resume/cover letter? I am enclosing the job description with the question: http://www.sdmart.org/info-jobs.html#paid and click on Visitor Services Associate.

I am also curious to know if I should try for the job anyway even if I'm not proficient in MS Outlook. I'm not but I am more than willing to become proficient at it.

Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.

...at the BCC in Manchester, England for the post of Communications Centre Advisor, and have got a job interview soon.

As I was applying for many jobs at the same time I only skimmed the actual job description, etc (idiot!)

My question is could anybody give a detailed job description of the above position (Communications Centre Advisor)?

Is the employment law different in Scotland as in Edngland/Wales. I have a guy working with me and he is a trainee roofer. He doesn't go to college as he is trained on site and training day's within the firm. He is on £4.43 per hour. He isn't 22 until Dec this year. I was telling him today that his rate is too low as the minimum wage has increased. It's a shame, he's a good lad and hard working. Can anyone advice please

Hi good people,
My husband is an ecologist / biodiversity postdoctoral researcher and his current contract runs out shortly. He has been sending out his cv is not getting any job interviews. Ideally he would love to get a lectureship or if not another post doc / research position. He will also consider becoming a ecological or environmental consultant.

He needs a cv and covering letter surgery as his current ones dont even land him any interviews. Can anybody out there recommend a cv writing and career / skill assesment service aimed at scientific / academic researchers.
There are a lot of cv etc writing services out there but it would be great to know of one particulalry aimed at people in his position.

Please do not hesitate to ask me for any further clarification.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions that you might have.

I work in a kitchen evenings after my classes and if anyone has ever cooked for a job, you know how exhausting and hot it gets in the kitchen, not to mention how much hard work it can be (i.e., working through supper rush, clean up, late nights). Plus I work late some nights and I am just having a heck of a time juggling the work and school and I feel like I never see my two young boys at all (ages 3 and 6.)

Does anyone else have any suggestions for other work I can do while going to college? Something part time that is not so exhausting and pays relatively decent, I don't have to be rich while working thru college but still need to put food on the table for my kids. Suggestions appreciated greatly.

I recently went out an purchase a laptop so I could start working on my business plan for a restaurant I want to start when I graduate from college next year. I went on download.com to download a program which gives interior decorating ideas and I just can't find any. So if you have any suggestion can you pass it along to me? Also if you are a restaurant owner what type of advice would you give a potential owner?
