For those of you who are struggling to get by, what do you feel are your biggest barriers to getting into the type of jobs where you could make more money?

For instance, is it lack of education, lack of experience, too high of unemployment, unable to work due to a health problem, lack of transportation?

What would need to change in your life to get into the field you want to be in?

I'm at a crossroads, happily married at 28. I don't have a career - I do work full time but I don't make a lot of money. In order for me to have a career, I would need to go back to school. Here's where I'm at the crossroads - I don't want kids, I never have - it's just a personal choice that I've felt all my life...and I'm not really interested in going back to school. So what do I do? I feel like I'm going nowhere and my life is not fulfilling. I've got a great husband who is as creative as they come, and I feel like I'm the only person I know in my family and friends sector that's not doing anything. Where should I start? I would love a career that brings home a lot of money and is something that I truly enjoy...what would be my best first choice of action?? I want to make the necessary changes to lead a happy life.

How much do they make in residency? Is it more or less than a non-military residency? What is their starting salary after residency? How much do they make 5 years out of residency? 10? Can doctors go on reserve like other members of the armed forces and hold a civilian job? If so, how much do they get paid for being on reserve? If you could provide a source or anything that has information on military docs that would be great.

After working all your life did you end up healthy, wealthy, and wise enough to enjoy your leisure? Can you afford to go anywhere or buy anything you want or are you bagging part time to meet your bills?

Did those dreams you had for years get stomped by economic reality, poor planning, or age frailty? Are you now sitting in the sunshine somewhere you always wanted to be and finding that it was all worth it? Or has your life without work become worse than your life with work?

Best part of your life or the worst?

I have an opportunity to help a friend's family dentist office out as a phone debt collector - not a lot of pressure - just 'did you receive your recent statements' and 'is it possible for you to pay a little amount due on your balance'... But they want me to come up with my compensation - per call / per hour / percentage of collected amounts / or a combination of the above. What's a fair amount?
