Look up the local electricians union, and ask if you are still eligible for employment, and ask if they have "catch-up" classes!
I have seen Union advertisements in our local paper, seeking people who would like to work at several types of jobs/ employment. they are offering those classes, with the idea of giving you work, although you would probably have to join the Union! Although, thinking of the high wages paid to a Journeyman union electrician, i think that would be very good.
Due to past emphasis on making everybody into computer whizzes, the building trades have lost a lot of future workers, who would have gone into the trades, and, being that the unions had a closed society, years ago, they are now hurting for workers, due to aging, and as stated above!
BUT! If you have had trouble keeping jobs wherever you have worked, or don't stay at a job for very long due to sickness, arguments with the employer, etc., i think you'd be wasting your time, and theirs!
Just my thoughts! HTH: JH

Go talk to the various electrical contractors in your area and see if they are hiring helpers.

The worst thing then will do is tell you they're not hiring.
