How much do they make in residency? Is it more or less than a non-military residency? What is their starting salary after residency? How much do they make 5 years out of residency? 10? Can doctors go on reserve like other members of the armed forces and hold a civilian job? If so, how much do they get paid for being on reserve? If you could provide a source or anything that has information on military docs that would be great.

Well you have to go to medical school and then join the military. There are programs in which they pay for your medical school, and you have to give one year of service for every year they pay. To be honst, the pay really, sucks, it like $70,000 a year. Its more profitable to pay your own tuition with loans then pay those off, than letting the military pay your loans and than woking for all those years for $70,000. Thats what a guest speaker told us.

A fraction of what they could make in private practice. The only positive is that they don't have to worry about malpractice insurance. NO one can sue the govt. and expect to win.
