I had an interview for a job (and I thought I did well). The interviewer said that they had some other people to interview through-out the week (this was last week) but will contact me by Friday (friday last week) to let me know if I get a second interview. She told me at the time that they had to go through all the interviews and make a decision. But I haven't heard anything yet. What could this mean?

It could obviously indicate they found someone else, or that they are still interviewing. I would not loose sleep over it. First of all, they did not keep their end of the deal by calling you by that friday. I would look at it this way, either they will call with a reasonable and acceptable reason they did not get back to you, or it is better they did not hire you because they do not follow through with their promises. Either way you win. However, I would definitely contact them and follow up with this. Simply and politely request an answer. Ask them if they hired for the position or if they planned on extending a second interview with you. Be respectful and polite, this way you exit on the high road and you are a winner. If this door closes, remember a better door will be opening. Best of Employment to you.

Well, I had a similar interview recenty on a Thursday and by Sunday morning I had recieved a letter of denial in the mail so they must have mailed it right away. I suppose no news is good news but if it were me...I would definatly give them a call and see what's up, if nothing else it shows how motivated and interested you are.

This usually is a nice way to let you know they are not interested. Once they find a good canditate....they hire on the spot.

they always say they'll let you know, but if they don't. . .chances are you don't have the job. sorry. although last time that happened to me, i ended up calling them back myself- and it turned out they did want me, they just didn't get a chance to get back to me! so you never know. good luck!
