I am interested in legitimate work-at-home businesses in transcription/typing, copy editing or Web based businesses (either design or selling).

Please answer with personal experiences working at home. I would prefer something with no start-up costs, but would consider a small fee IF it could be proven legitimate.

I have been watching the job market for a while now and I have noticed that there are many bad jobs that pay very little, while good jobs for mid career executives with an industrial background are hard to come by.

Does anybody have some good suggestion on how to approach a career change without taking an income hit or going back to school?.

Told some co-workers that I was looking for a new job because working every Saturday and Sunday for the next year really sucked in my opinion. BTW I was looking for a new job on my own time at home not using Comcast's resources. My supervisor says that I was causing negative energy by doing this and lead me out the building. COMCAST IS A CULT!!!! Workers aren't allowed to think for themselves and if they do they get canned. In fact working at Comcast if you mention the word "God" or "Jesus" or "Allah" and you get fired for it. I've seen it first hand. Now my question, since I live in a right to work state (Georgia) can I take any legal action?

My workers comp lawyer is advising me to hire a lawyer to fight my employer for wrongful termination;?
does this have to be done in the state you were fired in or can it be done by a lawyer in another state if you have moved due to the termination?

Ok so I'm known to everyone as a Reseptionist, but I'm really an Admissions Assistant. I love almost everyone at work everyone is real cool and laid back but, my one of my bosses has his favorites. Takes them out to lunch and whatnot. I mean I'm not kissing nobody's a@# and then on top of that, they recieve more responsibilites than I do. I can't leave the job I need the money ( I get paid pretty descent byu the way) but I'm tired of not being respected

My mom was injured on the job (broke ankle), she was put in a cast for 6 weeks-no work. Went back to the dr. and he said she wasn't healing fast enough; so he kept her in the cast. He told her she could return to work but only on light duty; she returned and was moved from her regular schedule of days to nights. After one week of work, she was removed from the schedule. After calling her boss, she finally called her back 4 days later. She stated that my mom had been laid off, due to the company being in the red and not being able to afford to pay her. She is still under dr.'s care at least until Nov., but now she has no compensation. Can they do this to her?

I was trying to take a peek at my latest review. I snuck into my boss' office while he was out. I heard him coming so I hid under the desk. Now he's at his desk working and I'm trapped under it and typing this from my Blackberry. I have a full bladder. What should I do?

I have done customer service type of jobs in most of my work history, I am looking for a slight change. I would like a job that gives me that competitive cust srvc pay and if I aim over the top I can earn commission. Please help me on careers or companies that have this. Not looking for a straight sales job, because we all know that if there are no sales, then there will be no job.

I have 14 years of real estate lending exp. I have been home for the last three, but I can't seem to find a job. I have updated my resume twice now to make sure it is perfect. I don't have any idea why I can't find a job. We moved to ATL 2 years ago, and the only thing I can think of is because I don't have any experience in this area.

Thanks = )

I was just thinking the other day, and became concerned. I am going to school right now for psychoogy. I want to eventually get a PhD in it. However, right now I am having trouble finding a job after being laid off, and have not been able to pay any of my bills for a few months. I have also had a few jobs this summer, about 3 that Ive filled out papers with, and didnt work out bc of school scheduling, will all of this affect my chances of getting a good job once I graduate with my Masters and then my PhD> Will someone do a background check on me and not hire me bc of this record?

Ok things haven't been going well at work at all. I keep getting the shaft when I try to strive for more opportunities like a promotion or a raise or even things like acknowledgement and credibility. My review was this week (on Monday) and got a small inflation raise. I tried to negotiate for more (throughout Tue & Wed) and ended up getting burned by my boss again. My boss hired back this guy that I took the place of three years ago and right away made him Assistant Manager (which is what I have been striving for or similar to). So today is Thursday and I gave my boss a request form for a day off for tomorrow. He approved but I think he's been trying to get me to leave. The middle of this week I applied to 2 other places (job listing posted hire wages and a for more respected position) and heard back right away. I took tomorrow off because I have these two interviews. If I get one of these jobs should I ask my employor to match inorder to keep me or just give two week notice?
