Instead of looking for a job, pick one. Pick a job, pick a couple of employers and WALK your resume and information in. Doesnt matter if they aren't hiring now, they maybe soon and they may not use papers or websites to look for employees. Especially mid-level, often they hire with-in and don't go looking. Follow up once or twice a month, be persitant but not annoying. Good luck.

Well, for starters, if you don't have a degree yet, you need to go back to school and get one, period! It will help you so much, you wouldn't believe it!
Also, there are tons of resources out there to help you find jobs, try a temp agency, they usually guarantee you a certain wage AND if you get put into a temp-to-permanent position, and the company likes you, they'll hire you and then you're in a nice job for a good while. You could also see if your family and friends can keep an ear out for job openings. My sister and dad that for me because they work in the same area, and I just interviewed and got hired for a job in a similar area, and I'm gonna be making over $4 more an hour in my new job that I start next week!!! I am so excited!
Also try websites like careerbuilder.com, monster.com, and go into search engines and do a search for jobs, or look at different companies' corporate websites, I have found those to be very good sources for jobs. And don't just look at one job website for the same town, use a few, because you'll find more open job info that way.
Best of luck to you and have a great week! Hope this info helped you! :)

Ouch that is a tough one. I don't think you can do a career change without taking a salary loss (at first) or going back to school.
