My workers comp lawyer is advising me to hire a lawyer to fight my employer for wrongful termination;?
does this have to be done in the state you were fired in or can it be done by a lawyer in another state if you have moved due to the termination?

I'm not a lawyer, but if you were terminated while out of work on a work-related injury, you have a good case, unless there are circumstances you have not revealed, such as fraud, or failure to report to work after being released by the doctor.

In my opinion, you would be well served with an attorney in the State in which you were terminated. If s/he is a competent employment law attorney s/he would be more familiar with the State's laws on wrongful termination than an outsider.
