I'm considering where I'd like to live. I've been in the DC area for 10 years and have lived some other places in the preceding 27 years. As with any place, each has its good and bad points.

I'm trying to find a few places where I might want to move for most (if not all) of the rest of my career. If you love where you live or where you have lived, I'd love to hear about the place and what makes it special.

Thanks!

I work for an aggressive collection agency. I mention this because the aggression is not only evident in their work but also in their dealings with employees. I have available vacation time and I put in my request a month in advance and my boss said I more than likely wont get it. He says he is short people and cannot have me out for the 6 days I requested. His is short, in my opinion (which I did not express!) due to his poor management skills. He told me to see him every week to see if the situation has changed but as it stands, it probably wont get approved. His reasoning is that he has always given me my vacation time, but this time he cant. What can I do? I have non refundable airline tickets- he suggested I reschedule. My event cannot be rescheduled. I will have worked for this company two years in September. He just came back from a personal 2 week trip to Asia. I find it unfair. Please help.

I am trying to start a cleaning business, I actually have one client right now, I go out to her place on the weekends, Sat & Sun only
I work anywhere from 5-8 hours each day, I am hoping to find out what is the average pay rate by the hours and by the day(s)
She wants me to give her a price by this Satruday and I want to be fair to her but not cheat myself as well.
If there are any sites where I can go to look this up that will be a help to me also,

I am in limbo a bit with my manager at work and she is not talking to me. Is it proffessional for her to not speak to me just because I got promoted? I feel sick about having to work all day with her now because I just want to have a good day and not have to tippie toe around.

I've been on a SERIOUS job search, and I keep getting solicitations for financial adviser positions. What turns me off to it is that it sounds like a sales job. When they start saying things like "You can make $100K your first year!" it makes me leery. Can anyone give me some insight on this career without sounding like a commercial?

I'm looking for a job and I have 3+ years of experience with the same company. A lot of job I'm applying for say something like "please include salary history/requirements" - does this mean I should include a blurb about my past salaries and my desired salary in the cover letter or attach a separate sheet or what? I don't want to look like I don't know what I'm doing.
Thanks for your help! :)

I have a full time job at a hotel and I have my real estate license and work for Century 21.My office does not advertise to be open on the weekends do you believe that?I got some business thru the hotel where I am able to put my business cards at the front desk.I wanted to apply for a postion to work on Saturdays at another office for hourly pay and be able to leave to show property if needed ( walk ins ) How can I apply for this? There is a Prudental office that is looking for an office assistant but my job pays a lot more than that I just wanted an hourly wage to be in the office from 9 to 5pm.Any advice would be great !! I was even thinking maybe a new home sales agent of course I would not be able to leave the office for that postion.

...and then the boss apologizes (probably fearing a case of sexual harrassment). The woman is somewhat offended, yet does not want to make a fuss. However, she also feels awkward and distrusting... What's the best way for her to deal with it? Should she tell Human Resources? Should she move to another department? Or should she just grin and bear it?

But my interest is in enviornmental and animal jobs, whereas Singapore has very few of this kind of job, and the pay may not be good also. What kind of job shall i look for which i'm both interested and with good prospect(can have a raise in pay)? Shall i go got University after working 3 yrs, by then i would be 25 yrs old, but i'm planning to get married by 27. If so how?
