It depends on how desparately you need the money to pay the bills.

When I was unemployed, at first I only applied for jobs that I wanted to do and thought would pay well, usually applied for a job one a day.

Two months later with no job, I decided I would go with a job I could tolerate that would pay well. I would apply from 3-5 jobs a day.

Two months after that with no job I decided that I would look for any job that would pay me enough to get by. A month after that I decided I would apply for any job anywhere as I was flat broke and wanted a place to live. I would apply to 10 or more places a day.

Persistence paid off and I finally did get a job. As another poster on her already said, if you don't like it, you don't have to take it (unless you are on unemployment and turning down a job could impact your benefits).

Good luck!

There is no set amount, but for my business, it's quantity AND quality. You can never go wrong applying for jobs, but do your research and find the job that's right for you. Research the people there, the company policy, the company beliefs. Then use those things to craft the best resume possible and decide if it's right for you.

As many as you're interested in. You can always turn down a job if you get multiple offers.
