I have resigned my job with the employer who had taken H1-B for me. Now that I have resigned, the employer wants to cancel my H1-B. I am looking for H1 transfer before the employer cancels my H1. Couple of consultants are approaching me saying that they can do H1 transfer and are asking for money. How can i know the genunity of these consultants?

Well to keep your status active you need to work for another H1-B employer. There must always be an employee-employer relationship with the H1-B. In fact the new employer must file a Form I-129 petition. No consultant can transfer your H1-B if you are not working for an H1-B employer. The employer does all that. Forget these so-called consultants. H1-B has rules. You best learn what those rules are. Here is a site to help you:

Good luck.
