My dad wants me to take over his business. I never saw a female general contractor before and wonder what would male sub-contractors feel when a lady is his contractor.

Wondering if they interviewed..got passed over..and they followed up later and got a job at that company. I find that companies you interviewed in person before are less likely to hire you even if another opening comes up.

I've been here a year, and I've always been a good employee. I get along with everyone, I've never had one negative comment said to me about my work, and the level of my work hasn't changed or gone down.
But for some reason these past couple weeks some co-workers have been telling me I'm not doing something correctly or that I could be doing it better, when I'm doing everything right. My boss took away my hour lunch break and made it a half hour, people are randomly making me do work for them that I've never had to do, and all of a sudden my boss won't let me go on myspace. And I'm not one of those myspace junkies either, I just go on once a day for a couple minutes to check email, and she's never cared before. And she lectured me on being 2 minutes late! This is a very relaxed place normally, everyone is always up to a half hour late! What's going on, why are they being so strict with me out of nowhere?

I don't have the personality to be one of those lawyers that argue in trial court. I don't mind doing paperwork, but I want to have my own practice. I don't like working for a boss. Are immigration lawyers needed in the next ten years??

I will be doing errands, driving, research, phones, appointments, pick ups, deliveries, contractors and sub contractors... My expenses reach over $3200 per month and I feel scared to ask for that much or more. People say that I should be asking for 25-35 $ per hour. ... How much would you pay if you had unlimited funds?

I've been looking for a office postion in the NJ/NYC area and it seems like nothing has come up lately. I've been looking for a month now, and the only jobs offered are temp jobs. I have nothing against temps, but I need stability. I'm experienced in all office aspects (clerical/data entry/receptionist{my current position}/secretary). You would think with all this experience something would come along but nothing. Anyone have any ideas on how I should go about finding a decent jobs??? I've posted my resume everywhere Monster.com/hotjobs.com/nj.com/craigslist.com. Can someone please help me and give me some advice......I have the skills and experience so what's going on. I refuse to go and work in the mall, when I know I have so much more to offer.
