Wondering if they interviewed..got passed over..and they followed up later and got a job at that company. I find that companies you interviewed in person before are less likely to hire you even if another opening comes up.

I have interviewed a couple of times...I honestly think I may be out of options.

I interviewed for a jail officer position in 1987. Three weeks later I was told they'd 'hold' my application, even though they recently expanded the facility and needed 12 new officers.

The personnel Lt. (I found out later on in life) didn't care for me and thought my interview sucked. Their turnover rate was 31% that year.

I was offered the job the day after I got my letter of rejection. I went ahead and accepted the position. I come from a family that has good morales, and strong work ethics, and found myself being promoted rather rapidly; much quicker than most of the veterans.

After making, Corporal, Sergeant, First Sergeant, Lt and Captain, in a matter of 10 years, I finally made Deputy Warden begining my 11 year. The youngest in this jail's history.

Our turnover now is in the low teens and I sit in on almost ever interview as an observer.

Oh, that young Lt. that never wanted to hire me??? I terminated him after being promoted to Deputy Warden within a month.
