I'm a freshly graduating College with a Communications degree. I have browsed through the databases of various job-searching websites, and have browsed throuth a couple of newspaper advertisements as well. What other methods are also efficient? Going out to companies directly, and asking them if they have any current job openings available? Or asking for people, friends, family members for help? This I have already done as well. What other strategies can you suggest me?

Three of us in the office and I'm the boss. I reckon the atmosphere is too serious - partly my fault but not totally - and want to make it more relaxed. Any ideas? No theme days or other cheese, please!

A year ago I moved from a small, rural town to a larger metropolitan area for a job. However, my director from the old job emailed me to ask if I would be interested in coming back. She has offered me a promotion and $2 more per hour than I'm making now. The problem is I have met someone here who I love very deeply and I am really enjoying city life. Although, the town is only an hour and a half away, I'm not sure if I should take the job or stay where I am. What should I do?

in 2 weeks?? I've been with this employer just a little over 1 year. I've not really liked my employer for many months and I started looking back in October 2005. A job that pays $5.00 more an hour has just been offered to me. My current boss is not going to like this at all. When I have asked him to sit down with me to discuss a pay raise, he has always said he is just too busy. Just yesterday, before I got this interview, I asked my boss if he was ready to discuss things. He said, well I really am quite busy, but I do know that I would want you to go salary and work longer hours. I pretty much know he will not offer me what this other company is going to pay me. I need suggestions and quick, as I need to start this other job on the 21st and that is exactly 2 weeks from today. Please help.

I had a job interview yesterday and one of the interview questions was "tell me what animal you would like to be most and why." For some reason, the first thing that came to my head was a "three-toed sloth". I had to explain my choice, and I said "because they don't do anything all day." the interviewer basically gave me a look that was like "oooooooook" and was weird the rest of the interview. did i hurt my chances?
