I'm from the lower 48 states and I'm hoping to find work in Alaska. Does anybody know of any companies who provide transportation, housing, etc.? I've heard some fishing companies do this. . . Help is well appreciated.

Alaska is not a continent. Its a STATE. It's not much colder than Montana or Wisconsin. I live in the "Golden Heart" of Alaska. Fairbanks. Its smack dab in the center.

As for jobs, it depends on where you are thinking. There is fishing charters off the coast, construction in the interior. This site http://www.alaskajobfinder.com/ is probably your best bet. They specialize in the Alaska fishing industry, featuring such jobs as deckhand jobs, cannery jobs, onshore and offshore processing jobs, and aquaculture jobs.

Any other questions, message me and I can help. I've lived in Alaska for 10 years, and am tired of the stereotypes, so I like to help people understand Alaska.

Alaska has a good job program to help find you appropriate work. Make sure you outline your needs to them for good placement.
