Be a golf caddy. Usually rich people play golf because of it's high price and luxury. My father was a golf caddy and he got a weekly tip of $25.00 - $40.00 .

The absolute best (and possibly only) summer job I've ever had would be the construction job I took last summer. Not only did I get to hang out with a great group of people, but I also had an opportunity to get a good work-out while getting paid. If you have an opportunity to go into construction for a summer, I would say go for it. It usually pays well (far better than the majority of retail jobs) and it keeps you quite active.

When I was 15 I worked at a summer day camp, and I had one of the greatest summers ever. You get to be out in the fresh air every day. You will meet lots of new people, and make a lot of great new friends. As for a summer job, I don't think there can be a better one. You won't get rich, but you will have more fun, than you can believe.

A great summer job is going to be something that relates to the types of things that you like to do, as well as a job that would teach you some skills that you will be able to use when you begin working full time.
Some people like working at a zoo or a water park. They learn customer service skills, sales techniques, and how to speak to customers.
Other people might think that working at a clothing store might be fun because they think they know something about fashion. It still teaches you about how to relate to the public, as well as how the fashiion industry works, as well as some sales experience.
Perosnally,
I have had several summer jobs,
repairing outboard boat motors
pumping gas at a marina
working the cash register at my grandparents grocery store
working for a contractor as a laborer
working for a bank as a software tester.
Write down a list of things you like to do, both working outside or inside. Remember that is you work outside you may have to work outside for 8 hours a day. Some people cant do this, depending on what part of the country they live in.
Good Luck.

One summer I got to work in the Queensboro Zoo. I was keeper for the Aviary. Under a huge mesh dome there was an area that was designed to look like natural open woods. I would go in and roam around to check for nests and record what was going on and to put out the food for the animals and birds that lived inside the dome. Once I opened the dome up for the public I was pretty much free until the end of the day when I had to go do myrounds and lock up the dome.
I would go and help the other keepers which is how I found out that buffalo like Wonder Bread and seals like smelt best of all. I would go into the area and search out the deer and help to herd them back to the enclosure where they spent the night. I had a sick goose to care fore and let me tell you you haven't lived until you try to get a goose to take its pills. All in all it was the very best job I ever had.

Here's the best one I ever had: Somehow, while working for Texaco Exploration & Production, I wanted to do something for vacation. I didn't have much money but it was the time when my kids would visit their Dad. So, I was wondering around on the 'net and I found the Bora Bora archaeological dig thru the University of Hawaii. So, I bought a plane ticket to Hawaii and then I changed out for Bora Bora. I was delighted with my job. For a plane ticket cost, I was fed three times a day, worked on the dig at the instruction of archaeologists, had a place to say, a group of new friends, and the sea by night.

# 1 Dog- cat sitting/ walking/ feeding
# 2 Paper route ( can extend beyond summer)
# 3 Dishwasher
# 4 Lawn care specialist- mowing weeding etc.
# 5 Babysitting
# 6 Housesitting
# 7 Car detailing / washing / waxing
These are all self employment types of work that will require you find your own customers and keep them happy. Being self employed rerquires more responsibility but is a great way to become prepared to make your own way in the world as well as allowing you freedom in ways other jobs likely would not.

A great summer job includes something you are interested in, for example there is no sense being a life guard if you hate sitting still or swimming.
http://www.teens4hire.org/articles/top_places_job.asp
has a list of possibilities and also includes tips on resumes, and interviews.
Being a summer Nanny is great for someone who loves hanging out w/ kids - if you drive it can be even more fun - go check out the beachs, parks, summer plays and museums.
