i had a job interview today and i was pretty much told i was on the top of the list for the job. Although they seemed to just do all the talking and i tried to contribute to the discussion but the guy just kept talking about the job and what i would be doing.. Does this sound good for me.....

the possibility of you getting the job is 75%. what happened indicated two points:
1- they think you fit the vacancy they have (they wouldn't have wasted their time explaining to you the tasks you'll be doing) and they are in a hurry (coz usually such details are given with the offer letter, unless they wanna check before they give the offer if the candidate is interested in the tasks that will be assigned to him/her)
2- the interviewer does not have interviewing skills and does not know how to correctly conduct and direct and interview.

hopefully it is the first option...

Any interview that I have ever had where they start explaining what u will be doing and the pay pretty much means u are in. All they are doing in those few days when your waiting is checking out your references.

Did they ask when you can start.
Did they show you around
Did they describe your job functions and expectations.

All good signs.

Some sure signs you have gotten a job:

They send you for a drug test.
They shake your hand & say "Congratulations, you are hired."

Anything short of one of those, I would still keep my old job.
