My boyfriend and his two children have been living with me in my house for all of 2007. He doesn’t work. Can I use his two children as dependents? If I can, how much more can I expect to get back in a tax refund. I make under 50,000.00 and have a small mortgage on my house. I think I paid about 4,500.00 in mortgage interest and about 1000.00 in property tax for 2007.

I am looking to consolidate all my bills and be able to bring my three grandcholdren here for X- Mas. My credit is considered poor score575. I have tried CITI, Capital One and they won't lend me any money. All my bills are current and have been for a long time. I spent 6 months unemployed and it killed my credit even though I was only a user on the accounts .

My fiance and I have bad credit, but I was looking on Yahoo and found a foreclosed house that has a remaining balance of $4,860. Do you think my fiance and I can purchase this house? We couldn't pay the money up front, we'd have to finance it.

If you think this is possible, how do I go about it?

Thanks so much for all your help!

Anyone know of any places in pennsylvania that do down payment assistance for mobile homes?
Me and my husband would like to get a mobile home from this one place but we need to have 10% down. We have terrible credit do to a foreclosure last year and some very late bills, we are working on getting caught back up but is taking a long time. We would like to rent in this place but do not wish to get rid of our animals to do it so if we buy we can have them. We found a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath double wide but we need to come up with 4,000 for a downpayment. Anyone know of any grants or anything like that we can apply for to get this payment help?

I'm interested in working in a hospital, I know there are numerous different positions available but I have never worked in a hospital before and have no experience in that field. Is there a website where I can find out the different positions within the medical field and the amount of training for each? I'm looking for something where I wont have to do a lot of schooling, but where I can find a position in a hospital environment. I'd like to be certified or have a qualification that is needed in the medical field without a lot of schooling. I know the job of Phlebotomist is one in which you don't have to do a lot of training, but I do not wish to draw blood. I'd like a more technical position such as working in X-ray or such. Any help appreciated.

I have about $4,000 that I want to put away towards savings on a house. What kind of account should I put it in? Of coarse I want to add to it. I won't even consider looking for a house for another 6 months because i have to wait a year after my bankruptcy. I have access to a VA loan.

I want to get a job at the cheescake factory but i dont think that I have enough restaurant experience, so I'm going to lie on my resume, saying that I have had jobs that I haven't had. What's a good reason for moving from job to job without having moved to another city? I live in LA.

My in laws have proposed to help my husband & I purchase a home by them paying for it out right & having us pay them back instead of a bank. Mainly so we can save on home owners insurancce etc... They want to buy the house & put it in there name with my husband as a co-owner incase something where to happen to them. It sounds like a great idea but I'm not comfortable with my name not being on the deed as they are not giving us the home but rather buying it & having us pay them back so I feel it's a loan. The house also needs ALOT of work & we'd be paying to fix it up. This is a big investment & I feel that I am not protected in all of this should something happen. the inlaws tell me it's a marital asset but it seems to me that it would be an inheritance & if something where to ever happen I would have no rights. It's already caused friction in our relationship when I bring it up. Need advice!!!! Has anyone done anything like this before? We live in FL.

I have tried to find a job for the past year. I am over 50, only have office experience in a avaiation factory. No real skills. I was laid off in 2002 from Boeing. I went to college and graduated with a nursing degree. I couldn't pass the state board so I gave up. I have hurt my back and can't lift over 25-30 pounds. Last Oct, I had open heart surgery to replace a heart valve and my sternum is not growing together properly so the weight restriction stays. Nursing is out of the question now. The degree I am seeking now is in Forensic Science-a Bachelor's Degree. I would be able to teach in college, to work in any chemical lab, hospital lab, forensic center, coronor's office, etc. But I will also be 3 years older. Hence my delimena. Do I stay in school or quit do the contract or temporary job work? I have been turned down for jobs because of my credit and I'm sure my age. I am on financial aide, only support myself and have tried even p-time job and none. Any suggestions

I was offered a specific amount to fly across the country for an interview with this company and fronted the money myself, even though it was over the amount promised. I haven't heard a yes or no from the company yet but I really need the money as soon as possible to cover my basic expenses. It seemed incredibly rude to mention it while I was there and I would still like to leave this company with a good impression of me, even if I am not offered the position. What is the most polite way of asking?

I went off my parent's health insurance and have yet to obtain coverage from my employer. I have been uninsured for almost three months. I am generally healthy but have a few health concerns for which I see specialists and am on 5 Rx medications to treat.

My dad keeps on telling me that if there is a lapse in my health insurance coverage, the new company I get coverage with could decide to not cover me for my pre-existing conditions. Is this common? What are the odds of this happening? Thank you for any insight!

My elderly father died in 2007. What is my obligation as the executor to see if prior years' tax returns have been filed (and taxes paid)? I can find no direct evidence that federal or state returns were filed, but I also see no evidence that are are any open audits, tax judgments, or liens. I know I can request 4 years of transcript data and 10 years of copies of prior returns (at the federal level), but do I need to "reach back" that far? I have insufficient data to reconstruct whatever is necessary. I am uncomfortable with filing the 2007 returns and waiting until the tax authorities send me a notice for prior years.

I just received a settlement offer from a credit card that was closed over 5 years ago. Total amount owed was $753 and settlement is for $310. I have disputed this for all this time because my original credit limit was only $350 and the company(First Premier) tacked on outrageous fees which i did not agree with. Now that this is with a collection agency, should i accept the offer to settle, and if so, can i have them remove this from my credit report?
