So I found a great REO priced below market. It was bid on after being on the market only a week. It fell out of escrow because the buyers got cold feet. Now it's up for sale again, and according to the listing agent he has several full-priced offers. How do I know if this agent is blowing smoke or not? Is there a formula for how much under you can bid on an REO? Is there any way of knowing how much that original bid was for?

I am renting from a landlord that states (it is in my lease, but he did not mention the "no pets" rule until right before we signed the lease!) that I may not have pets in my apartment. However, another tenant in the building has a dog, which he says is allowed because she was "grandfathered" into the apartment complex. Is this allowed? I do not understand why they get to have a dog and I can't have my harmless cat!

Should a car still be on my credit report from 1999-2000? I was under chapter 13 and refiled the next year. I had a car under it, it got totaled and the insurance covering chapter 13 paid it off and let me into another car to begin my payments where I left off on the previously wrecked car. I hadn't paid chapter 13 since I got hurt on my job in 3/99. I guess they didn't check that before letting me into another car. Can this car still be on my credit report as an open account. Shouldn't it be gone by now. My chapter 13s are still there, I understand they don't go away for 10 years if they were dismissed as opposed to discharged. But this car was repossessed in 2002. 2002 wasn't the last payment but if they sell the car and charge me the difference, does that start me over with the SOL?

I've seen some sites out there, but they're all subscription/pay-service. I'm looking for a site that has foreclosure listings (specifically in MA), without having to pay to view them.

It appears as if the selling is quite simple to figure out, but it is not clear how I, as the seller, will recieve the money after the buyer pays with paypal. Do I get a check in the mail? How do I get the money from my sale?

I asked this in another section too.

Recently I was given an assignment to develop code in C++ to automate some administrative tasks. The job was advertised as a Unix development position and an Oracle back end. Come to find out that they expected me to develop the application for cross platform execution for Windows XP with a SQL server back end.

As if that wasn't bad enough, they expected me to do this using only ISO Standard C++ with a Gnu compiler and an old Vis. C++ compiler with no documentation. No DB libraries (AFAIK), no cross-platform libs, nothing. Not only that, but they had no requirements docs & no plan.

I had suggested doing the project in Python, but it was dismissed as he had no Python programmers to maintain it.

They wanted me to design and implement the system, but they did not want give me written requirements or the leeway to use tools of my choosing. And they wanted it in 3 to 5 months.

So the question is, was this as impossible a task as I thought it was

Was there any gain? I sure you can claim co op ownership on your taxes. I guess thats the gain.

I guess you can lock in on a mortgage that will only increase when your maint fees does.

Thanks.

I live in NC and my wife made poor decisions and got several credit cards when she was 18 and now it's 7 years later and they are harassing still. I know in NC, the statute of limitations are 5 years and they are not allowed to call and harass. She has not paid on the cards nor promised payment in over 5 years so therefore time is up. What can we do to stop the calls and what kind of charges could be brought against them? If there is something I am missing about the statute of limitations please let me know but from what I can tell they don't have a right to be calling. Thanks for your help.

My husband just got a job in Stillwater MN. We are looking to relocate in the near future and would like a list of the towns (big and small) that are near the city over the border into Wisconsin.

Any links to local newspapers/classified ad sites would also be very helpful.

Thank you all in advance! :)

I was living in an apartment in Oklahoma city recently with my boyfriend until he got deployed to South America. We had a month left to go on our lease but we didn't feel like trying to get out of paying for it so we paid that month's rent and moved out at the beginning of the month and gave proper notice. Since we didn't have much time to get out of the apartment (I was going to live with family until he got back) we left it kind of messy. Now they are trying to make us pay over $1100 for carpet replacement and for garbage disposal. My boyfriend says that he will be able to get a loan for the money but not until he gets back to the states in January. Since we are not married, they are trying to pin all of this on me. Is there any way that we can postpone paying this money legally until he gets back.
