At the risk of sounding cynical or ungreatful, I am wondering if this offer I got in the mail is too good to be true. I have absolutely horrible credit. I have a bankruptcy on my credit report as well as a very poor credit score (450-500!!!) and Bank of America would not even consider giving me a credit card months ago. I have checking and savings with them for a year now and all of a sudden I get a credit card offer in the mail. Unsecured, $2,500 limit, no apr or annual fee and rewards. Credit card companies laugh when I apply for credit so why now? I couldn't dream of a card like this when I had decent credit, so I am very suspicious now that I got this offer when my credit is MUCH worse. I didn't call the # on the letter. I called the bank and was told that all I had to do was accept the card and it is mine. Could this be a set up? I heard of those cops that tell people with warrants that they won something just so they can arrest them and I bounced a few checks...

I've recently applied for a marketing work experience position at pharmacutical company. I've gotten a reply and they say they want to have a chat with me about the opportunities they have for me to work with them.

I'm thinking about wearing a suit to this talk tomorrow. But I'm afraid that I might look over-dressed and too formal. I mean, they wrote on the e-mail that they want to have a chat (not so much of a interview). Errr I don't know. Please help me out? Thanks :)

We have 2 dogs and 3 cats and cannot find a house to rent or even a caravan park to live in because of our animals.
We earn good money but every where we go no landlord wants to know when we tell them about our pets.
We are now desperate as we end our tenancy on Dec 16th.

What historically were the best investments during stagflation peroids?

Slow economic growth causes stock markets go down, so stocks and shares are presumably not a good bet, especially that they are still so high.

Returns from the low-yelding government bonds / money market investments do not even beat the rising inflation so cash is also not a good idea.

Because of the "credit crunch" overinflated property prices head down, so buying a house is probably not the best thing to do right now.

Finally commodities, such as gold, oil or wheat are at their historical highest peaks so it would be rather risky to buy now when they are so high (old investment advise - buy low, sell high).

So what do you think are the best investment for the times of global "stagflation"?

According to various internet sources, my car is worth £2-£2.8k. However, suppose it was written off, it would cost me appx. £3.4k to replace it (have found almost identical car on Auto Trader). In the insurance payout, would I get the market value, or enough to buy the equivalent?

Recently graduated and just started working for a big high fashion design co in NYC as a database marketing analyst. The pay is ok at $50k, but I found it strange that I'm not eligible for a bonus. (HR tells me bonuses are reserved for levels manager and above) Other companies that made offers all offered bonus potential, so I assumed that it was the norm.

Anyway, I took this job because the work is more in tune with my interests. However, I'm just confused about the bonus situation. Could someone fill me in?
