I am getting my degree in nursing (BSN) and will most likely pursue a MSN as well. I really don't want to work nights, though. Are all nurses required to work nights at some point? How hard is it to find an employer that doesn't require nights?

I get paid mostly in cash, partial in check, and I don't think they'll be claiming. If they don't claim do I have to? I make $375/week and usually get $125 in a check.

As a nanny working privately why would I have to claim anyway? (okay that sounds niave, but I just wonder why I would have to claim if this is a private job and not through an agency....)

I have joined with data entry sites and home survey sites and found that they want you to get your own website and generate traffic and make money from being an affiliate. This may be all good and well but I have no one to refer and cant afford to spend money to get traffic to my site, hence the job hunting in the first place. I have been ripped off every time I have tried to make some cash to make ends meet for myself and my 3 children under 5 and just want a legit way to make some money whilst looking after my children.

I asked a question on here a few weeks ago, to much success - so now I only have 1 last thing that is confusing me.

I work a full-time job, and now I have started doing a few website design jobs here and there for extra money.

Someone in my last questioned mentioned if i 'start making a bunch of money at this' then I will have to start making quarterly estimated tax payments.

How much exactly is a 'bunch of money'?

Is it when I am getting regular work from the web design? Is it when a certain percentage of my income is from said web design? Or is is a specific dollar amount?

I'm just trying to be legal here and the government is making it very hard for my to understand how to do so. Ha!

Thank you in advance!

Stay with me--I have never had a job and this is my first time with this.

Questions:

1: For the total number of allowences I am claiming...
a) My husband is working as well. Do we BOTH claim our 2 children or does he claim one and claim the other?
b) It states if I have at least $1500 of child care expenses. We don't in 07 but will have them in 08.

2) I don't understand this:

Last year I had a right to a refund for all federal income tax withheld because I had no tax liability and this year I expect a refund for all federal income tax withheld because I expect to have no tax liability.

We were given a refund last year, but I don't quite know how that relates?

And about the cafeteria plan:
We have 2 kids that are going to be in daycare with about $185/week. Should I take out the max of $5K even though I'll only be making $30K? How exactly does that work?

The HR gal was gone by the time I got back from lunch.

What if the person who was rear ended did not file a personal injury to the insurance company at the time of the accident? Can he still out of the blue file a lawsuit against the person who hit him even though it had been over a year, claiming that he was seriously injured? What are the chances of this person winning the lawsuit?

The bank attempted to cash the same check twice and that made me overdrawn. I caught the mistake on the Internet and brought it to their attention. The representative claimed that it was not their mistake but the recipient of the check who had tried to cash it twice. I went to the recipient and they proved that they only cashed it once. The bank said that they would investigate but my account was shutdown and I was unable to pay bills the normal way. By the start of the next day, the mistake had been fixed but the computer assessed me $150 in overdraft charges. I called the bank and I was told that they could do nothing without evidence. I called there national phone line and they returned the money in about 2 seconds. I told them that they owed me some money for the time, effort, and inconvenience they caused me. I think it is only fair that they charge a customer $30 dollars for overdraft that they pay a customer $30 dollars for every overdraft that they c
