help on buying books from amazon.ca?

hi, just wanted to buy this book online -

this is the first time i am ever buying online and am a bit nervous about the whole thing. is it safe to buy on amazon? how does this "buying online" really work? after you click 'checkout', what happens? can i pay via debit card? how much will shipping cost? thanks for putting up with me guys!
