I went on an interview for a position as an Executive Assistant. I thought everything was going well because I was asked to come back to interview 5 times. Well the 5th time I met the owner of the company and interviewed with him. After we talked he told me that " Some times we are looking for oranges, sometimes banana's, but you are an egg-plant." " At this time we aren't looking for egg-plants". I felt insulted but I wasn't exactly sure what he meant by that. What is your opinion?

I'm currently struggling to pay off a major credit card. I only have a credit line of $1,100, but it seems no matter how much I pay, I can't seem to seem to get it down.

I will admit that at one point this year (after college graduation), I was very dependent on my card and even maxed out a few times, but since then I've been making regular above the minimum payments ($45 to $55). The craziest thing is that I haven't used my card in 2 months but some how managed to max out again. Insane right?

I'm to the point to where I'm considering just paying off my debt with another card. I'd probably cut up the old card (keeping the account open) and make sure to have the debt on the new card payed down to atleast $500 by the end of the "no apr" grace period, but I'm worried this method may put a dent in my credit score being that in total I'd have 2 major cards and 3 store cards (no issues with these).

Do I just tough it out or get another card?

i am really confused. I am a nursing student who will have completed my LVN/LPN associates in nursing and liberal arts in may of 2008. But I was planning on going on to get my RN, but then I am hearing about a BSN, so here is my question. SHould I bypass the RN and go straight for a BSN? Does a BSN rate the same as a RN, or would i outrank a RN. I really dont want to be a paper pusher at this point in my life, i want to work the floor. I know a lot of places are only wanting RNs. I am realy confused on what to do! Help.

Oh and I can either go for a 8 month bridge RN program or go online to get my BSN from pheonix; i dont know how long that takes!

I recently recieved a verbal job offer early last week, with a written offer to follow shortly after. It has almost been a week and I have not yet heard anything back. Should I contact them to find out what is going on?? How do I ask this question with out coming across pushy?

Last time I spoke with them i stated that I needed to give at least 1 wks notice, which they said was fine, they wanted me to start on dec 3rd, but by the looks of it that will not happen, I will have to give my notice today. I will not give my notice until I have written contract in my hands.

My husband has been a full-time stay at home dad and full-time college student this year. Can I claim him as a dependant when I file my taxes in January? If so, how would this change my refund? I claim married and two (two kids) and usually get a pretty decent refund. Would claiming him (if allowed) change that at all?

We in the UK are extremely fortunate. The most fortunate pay the most tax but we have also had the greatest benefits. It makes me sad when I hear people whinging about and complaining, since the UK is GREAT ! We have the best society in this world, we have the highest wages in this world. We have a great government presiding who we were wise enough to elect. Sure, we do pay some tax, but so do people in many other countries and they get much less for it. When in the UK we are doing well we pay more, when we work in low paying jobs we are supported up to our needs. When we are ill we have a great national health service. We are truly priveleged ! Sure, it's a chore complying with red tape and paying tax, but it well worth it in the long term. Sure our dearly beloved island nation is not perfect but it is the best place on this planet, thinks me ! Come on all you people out there, appreciate our great fortune and fair deal ! Come rain or shine UK people stand together ! Welcome to UK !

HELP! We bought our first house this summer. It is on a cul-de-sac. The driveway leading is quite narrow, only room for one car and short, so you can't park two cars end-to-end without blocking the sidewalk. We began to park our second car to the right of our driveway, in the grass, planning to pave or put down gravel later. Our neighbors placed a rock in the path soon after. We went to them to ask if parking there was a problem. They said that the property line dissected the path we were pulling through to park, so if we would just pull around the rock, they'd be happy. We have done so since then. Now they have pulled a flatbed trailer in the grass where we have parked. They have a large two car garage and a wide driveway. We plan to have a survey done as soon as possible, but I'd love any suggestions on this. If we park on the street, we will always end up blocking someone's mailbox, resulting in no mail delivery. HELP!!! :)

I was on my way to work when this guy was standing in the street with a folder and told me that I could save money on home appliances, but I had to fill in a form.

I gave him my name (false first name) and false bank details. reason for that was because of identity fraud.

He did not show my terms and conditions of the service he was providing.

Am I in the wrong to provide false bank details?

I have been to both vocational schools and colleges and unfortunately didn't find a spark in what career I wanted to get into. I have did some soul searching and researching and have been out of a job because I despised all food industry jobs that I had. I'm at the conclusion of feeling a good heart to help others with back problems that's why I considered massage therapy! umm and then I'm thinking of joining a community college and doing the PTA progam and as I build myself up I want to end up owning my own cafe! life is full of decisions and I feel like I been soul searching enough on my careers I need your advice. I mean I love a job where I can work independently and not to grind and move too fast and I can work in a soft structured environment where people aren't screaming at me or telling me I'm doing a bad job I'm tired of that! i'm empathetic, kindhearted, peoplepleaser, easygoing nice
