I recently recieved a verbal job offer early last week, with a written offer to follow shortly after. It has almost been a week and I have not yet heard anything back. Should I contact them to find out what is going on?? How do I ask this question with out coming across pushy?

Last time I spoke with them i stated that I needed to give at least 1 wks notice, which they said was fine, they wanted me to start on dec 3rd, but by the looks of it that will not happen, I will have to give my notice today. I will not give my notice until I have written contract in my hands.

I am just wanting to touch base with you, I have not received the written offer from when we last spoke on tuesday nov 20th. I am very eager to start on the 3rd of dec. If there is anything that I can do to speed up this process, please let me know.

Not leaving your company unless you have a written offer is the best decision I have encountered in this forum so far.
The best thing to do is call them again and tell them that you have not received the job offer they've promised to you. If they ask why do you need it, tell them honestly that you cannot leave your current job without any written document from them.

Good Luck

I would defiantly contact the person you spoke with that gave you the verbal offer. You should just state that you do want to start on the 3rd, but you requested a week notice and it doesn't look like you will be a able to start on the 3rd since you never received the written contract. Just explain yourself and it should all work out for the best.

Looks fine - you might add a comment about needing to give one week notice after you receive the written offer. If they can't understand that, then you probably don't want to work for them.

It's not likely that there's anything wrong - the holiday probably just interfered with them getting the letter out. But you are wise not to give notice until you get the written offer in hand.

I would call and ask, there is a chance that it was sent and lost in the mail. Ask them if there is a chance they can email or fax you a copy of anything sent.
Take to HR, they are the ones you handle the offers. If they don't know about it, then talk to the person who offered you the job.
HR should know about it, especially if it was a legit offer.
