Being late is never good. So the answer is yes.
However, there are so many variable into being chosen for a job. You never know. Perhaps the employer did not like any of the other applicants?
So much is taken into account when choosing someone for a job, he/she may just choose to overlook the lateness as a one-off incident.

Pretty much!! Also depends on the other candidates.....responsibility is always a big factor, though, and you being late is never a good thing.....also, 5 minutes early is not good enough!! 15 minutes is the norm....shows you are prepared, punctual, and that you really want the job!!

well at the beginning of this month when my boss was looking for new assistants a lady was set for an interview for 10 and she showed up at 10:20 and said she was early and my boss wasn't too happy about it, when she left he mentioned that she was late and how he didn't like it; needless to say she didn't get hired!

Yep. You have.
You essentially showed a lack of time management and an inability to properly note your scheduled appointments. Take this as a lesson and always re-confirm if there are any doubts, though there should be none.

Well, it sounds like an honest mistake, but where I work, at least, if you stroll into the interview late, odds are good you're not getting the job.

If you can't keep track of the time your appointments are scheduled, what does that say to the employer about your responsibility?
Yes, I would say that it sealed your fate with this employer. They will not be hiring you.

possibly. mistakes do happen. were YOU in the wrong? or did someone write it down wrong? you scrapped your chances or you didnt. depends on how cranky the the interviewer was feeling that day.
relax.
dont fret over something you have no control over. and you dont have any control over this situation so you might as well just get over it.

i don't think so,it may well be looked on as a plus, that the first words you speak to your potential new boss, are blatant lies.if the job is in sales or the police-force for example, these may be the very qualities they are seeking.and if so well done to you.great initiative.

they do not know where the miscommunication came from and you did say 10:30 so you were not late based on the information you had. That should keep you in the running... Good luck

It really depends on the company, but I expect most places would dismiss your application based on that.
Unless, of course, you have very specialized skills that are in high demand, in which case you may get a reprieve.
